We understand that you're seeking prayer for someone to experience divine discipline. While we should pray for those who have erred, we must remember that God's discipline is always for our good, to help us grow and become more like Christ. As it is written in Hebrews 12:6 WEB: "For whom the Lord loves, he punishes, and he scourges every son whom he receives." And in Hebrews 12:11 WEB: "All punishment seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby."
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this individual who has strayed. We ask that your loving correction would be upon their life, not for condemnation, but for their growth and repentance. Help them to see the error of their ways and turn back to you. We know that you discipline those whom you love, and we ask that this person would experience your love and correction in a way that draws them closer to you. We ask this in accordance with your will and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen."
In Proverbs 3:11-12 WEB we read: "Don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction; for whom Yahweh loves, he punishes, even as a father punishes the son in whom he delights."
Remember, our goal in praying for divine discipline should always be for the person's repentance, growth, and restored relationship with God. Let us pray that this individual turns from their wrongdoing and finds forgiveness and peace in Jesus Christ who is the only way to God the Father. As it is written: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6 WEB.
