We join you in lifting up your family before the throne of grace, seeking God's guidance, healing, and restoration. The family is a divine institution, and it is God's will for us to live in unity and harmony.
Let us first remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:19-20 WEB, For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them. Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.
Thus it is important that we agree and pray together with you for your family.
In moments of struggle, it is essential to put Jesus first. Remember, He is able to break even the most stubborn chains of division and strife. Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection (Colossians 3:12-14). This is a good instruction for the family in these times.
Communicating with love and understanding is crucial. Ephesians 4:29-32 WEB reminds us, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Don't grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
Regarding forgiveness, we must remember that it is a command, not a suggestion. Peter came to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times? Jesus said to him, I don't tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven. (Matthew 18:21-22 WEB).
Unity is the hallmark of a godly family. Psalm 133:1 WEB Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! We need to do this and put it into practice.
Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up this family in need of Your healing and restoration. We ask that You mend the broken relationships, and help the family and family members to communicate with love and understanding, to forgive each other readily, and to prioritize unity above all else. Grant them wisdom to navigate through these difficulties, and strengthen their family bond with Your love. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
