We are truly sorrowful to hear about the difficulties you're facing in your marriage. Firstly, we want to assure you that God cares deeply about your situation, and He wants to help you. As a group, let us come together and pray for you and your husband, rebuking the spirit of fear, anxiety, and anger that has taken hold of your home.
Let's remember what the WEB says in Ephesians 5:25-30: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly."
From the scripture we know that the Lord has set a high standard for marriage. God expects a husband to love and cherish his wife as Christ loved the church. He gave Himself for us and we are to do the same for our wives. It is clear from your prayer that your husband has not lived up to these expectations. The Bible also tells us, "Nevertheless, let each one of you love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband." So, there is a responsibility for the wife to respect her husband. This respect should be done in pureness and never in the face of sin such as adultery, abuse, or immorality. This is where we should start praying.
We also need to pray for your husband's salvation, as there is no mention of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that our hearts can truly be changed. As the WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" So, let us pray together.
Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
We come before You, lifting up our sister who is hurting in her marriage. Lord, You know the pain and anxiety she's experiencing. We pray for her husband, that You would soften his heart and remove the bitterness and pride that has taken root. We also pray for a change in his attitude and actions towards his wife and children. Healing the sadness he feels and replacing it with the love of God. Bring him to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the salvation he brings.
Lord, we also pray for our sister. We pray that You would give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this situation. We pray that You would guide her decisions about the upcoming cruise and her marriage. Help her to walk in faith and have the courage to respect her husband without accepting any sin.
We ask these things in Jesus Christ's name, knowing He gave us the power to do so.
