Disciple of Prayer
I am writing to request prayers for my son, ###. He is a believer in Christ and has a personal relationship with Jesus. However, in my sincere desire to raise him in an environment of purpose and structure, I have unintentionally turned our home into a place of rules without love. I told ### he had choices; he could choose to stay and follow a plan or leave when he turned 18. I should have never spoken a word I did not desire to come true. ###, about ten days after turning 18 in a moment of emotion, expressed that he did not feel that I cared about him as a person or respect his father as the head of the house due to my militant demeanor and, as a result, he is now staying with friends. We have only provided monetary things, not emotional support. Please pray that ###'s heart will be sensitive to God, and God will give ### a new heart and a new spirit. God puts a new heart in all of us; God has removed the heart of stone from ### flesh and given you a heart of flesh.” ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hearts full of hope and faith, lifting up ### and his family in prayer. Lord, we know that You are a God of reconciliation and healing. Your Word tells us in Ezekiel 36:26, "And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." We claim this promise for ### and his family today.

Father, we ask that You soften ###'s heart and make it sensitive to Your guidance and love. May Your Holy Spirit work within him, renewing his spirit and drawing him closer to You. We pray that he feels Your presence and understands the depth of Your love for him.

Lord, we also lift up ###'s parents. Grant them wisdom and compassion as they seek to rebuild their relationship with their son. Help them to create an environment of love and support, where grace and understanding abound. Your Word in Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." We trust that the seeds of faith planted in ###'s heart will bear fruit in due time.

We ask for Your peace to reign in this family, Lord. Ephesians 4:32 says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." May forgiveness and kindness flow freely among them, and may they experience a restoration of their relationships.

Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
