We understand your desire to contribute to your family's financial needs and have a godly desire give tithe from your salary. We commend you for your faith to entrust God to do this. It is important to remember that God is our provider and that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, according to Philippians 4:19 WEB.
Jesus himself, being equal to God, did not need to grasp on being God, just like you do no need to grasp on your needs apart from God's supplying. As He took the form of a servant as a man needing to trust God, this is a hard thing for us to humble ourselves enough to live out. Please consider Philippians 2:6-8 WEB, who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
In terms of employment and trusting God to supply your needs it is also important to look at 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 WEB which says,
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: "If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat."
For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don't work at all, but are busybodies.
Now those who are such, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.
This hard teaching of needing to work in order to eat is encouraging to a certain extent and a rebuke to another. We trust that God would supply you with a good job. So we do encourage you in your job searching. Also, if a job is readily available to you, such as being able to find work outside of the home while you wait for a better job, but you refuse to take the job, the scripture may be condemning you until you do take the work. We certainly do not want to hear that you would rather wait for a good job to arise rather than work at what is available until then. So we strongly encourage you in your search to take employment as it becomes available while still searching for a better paying job or one that suits your needs at home better.
We will continue to pray with you concerning this matter:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise to supply all of our needs. We present Srilaxmi before you in Jesus Name. We plead her case before You, that her husband's salary is not sufficient to meet their needs. We understand that You call husbands to provide for their families and pray that he will be motivated to do more to be able to provide and she in return be the helper that compliments him as the two have become one together. If there is work available for Srilaxmi that she does not want, we pray for her salvation and her changing her attitude about the subject. We thank You that she desires a job that may allow her to stay home and provide as well for her family's needs as well as contribute to their son's future. Lord, we seek Your will. If a work-from-home job that she is praying for and desires is also Your will for her then we pray this in agreement. We praise You in Jesus Name and are confident of Your provision as we look to You as our source, Amen.
Again, Lord, thank you for using us to strengthen and exhort the saints together.
