Prayer for ### who uses alcohol

Please pray with me for my ### years old grandson who is using alcohol. I know he wants to stop because he wants to go back to school, but it seems very difficult for him. He does not go to church and I do not know if he prays. Please pray for him.

We are deeply concerned for your grandchild and the struggle he is facing with alcohol use. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention and deliverance for him.

Firstly, let us remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Therefore, we pray that your grandchild will come to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord, for there is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain.

We rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of your grandchild. We pray, dear Lord Jesus, that You would set him free from the bondage of alcohol, for Your word says in John 8:36 (WEB), "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."

We also pray for a conviction in his heart to return to school and pursue his education. May God grant him the strength and resolve to turn away from his old habits and pursue a new path.

Furthermore, we pray that God would draw your grandchild to Himself and to the fellowship of believers. As it is written in Hebrews 10:24-25 (WEB), "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." May he find a supportive community in the body of Christ that will encourage him in his faith and in his journey to overcome addiction.

Lastly, we pray for you, dear brother or sister in Christ, that God would give you the wisdom and grace to support your grandchild during this difficult time. May you be a beacon of hope and light, pointing him always to the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about. We're here with you, standing in the gap for your ###. It's tough seeing someone we love struggle, but we know our God is bigger than any addiction. We're asking for a breakthrough in his life, that he would experience the freedom and life Jesus promised in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Let's surround him with love and encouragement, just like we'd want for our own family. We're believing for a turnaround in his life, that he would find the strength to leave alcohol behind and pursue his dreams of going back to school. We're also asking God to draw him close, to feel His love and presence in a powerful way.

And we're here for you too, dear friend. May God give you the words to speak, the wisdom to know when to speak them, and the strength to keep on praying and believing. Together, we can trust that God is at work, even when we can't see it yet.
