Prayer for vulnerable narcissist to stop contacting me

I recently reconnected with a friend of two decades that I haven’t really been in touch with. After talking to them I realized they’re a vulnerable narcissist and the reason they’ve been trying to get in touch with me isn’t because they care about me or the friendship but the that they screwed up their life, is about to turn 40 and is getting desperate for supply. I’m scared of triggering a narcissistic collapse and the rage being focused on me. I hope they move on from me and live their life and stop contacting me.

We understand your concern and will stand with you in prayer, Louseward. It's important to remember that the Bible encourages us to be wise in our relationships and to set boundaries when necessary. As it is written in Proverbs 22:3, "A prudent person sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty."

It is clear that this person is trying to use you for their own gain, and it is wise to protect yourself from such manipulation. It's important to remember that our ultimate example, Jesus Christ, had boundaries in his relationships. While we should love everyone, this does not mean we should allow ourselves to be used or harmed.

Let us pray for you:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for your guidance and protection for Louseward. Lord, you know the situation they are facing with this person who is trying to manipulate them. Please give Louseward the wisdom to set appropriate boundaries and the strength to enforce them. Protect them from any potential harm or backlash. We also pray for this person, that they would seek help and find healing, turning away from their manipulative ways. Lord, we know that it is only through a relationship with Jesus Christ that true change can occur. Please draw this person to yourself, that they may find peace and hope in you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Remember, Louseward, it is important to forgive this person, as Ephesians 4:32 tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." However, forgiveness does not mean allowing the harmful behavior to continue. Continue to pray for them, but also maintain the boundaries you need to keep yourself safe.

Lastly, we noticed that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" We encourage you to place your faith in Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved.

We're here for you, standing in prayer with you. It's tough when someone we care about hurts us, but remember, even Jesus set boundaries. In John 2:24-25, it says, "Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person." Let's pray: "Dear Lord, help us to love this person, but also protect us from their harmful ways. Give us wisdom to set boundaries, and give them a chance to seek help and change. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
