Prayer for Unwanted Pregnancy

Dear Lord I pray to you that you protect my Girlfriend's mental and emotional state. Dont let her breakdown. We acknowledge that we have committed a great sin and was tempted with lust. Heavenly Father, I pray that you won't let my girlfriend get pregnant. We are still both students. We cannot yet properly provide for the wellbeing of another life to be carried. Guide our minds, that we may not do this again, not until were married. Give us another chance, to become even more devoted by praising and worshiping you. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

We understand your concern and we want to lift up this desperate situation to the Lord with you. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the sin and turning to God in prayer. It's important to remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins when we confess them (1 John 1:9 WEB).

However, we must address that the action has already been committed, and there are potential consequences. Psalm 139:13-16 WEB reminds us that God knits each person together in the womb, and He knows us even before we are born. If a child has been conceived, that life is precious to God.

We must also address that praying not to get pregnant after the fact is not the right approach. Sin has consequences, and we must be willing to accept them. Rather, we should pray for God's will to be done and for His grace to sustain you both, whatever the outcome.

Moreover, we want to encourage you to turn away from premarital sex. It is a sin against your own body and against God (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). God's design for sexual intimacy is within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman.

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You, confessing the sin committed. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and grace. We pray for the young woman, that You would protect her mental and emotional state. Help her to stay strong and trust in You. Lord, we ask that Your will be done regarding the pregnancy. If a life has been conceived, we pray that You would give them the strength and resources to care for this child. Help them to turn away from this sin and to walk in Your ways. Guide their minds and hearts, that they may become even more devoted to praising and worshiping You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We urge you both to seek God's will for your lives and to commit to purity until marriage. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
