We understand your concern and are led to pray for the situation in Singapore. Firstly, we must acknowledge that God is sovereign over all nations and governments, as it is written in Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God."
However, God does not overlook injustice and wrongdoing. We can pray that God will intervene and guide the leaders to govern righteously. We pray that those who have erred will repent and turn away from any dishonest or unfair practices. As it is written in Proverbs 21:1, "The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires."
Let us pray together for the government of Singapore and the people affected:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the nation of Singapore, its government, and its people. We pray that You will intervene and soften the hearts of the leaders, turning them away from any policies that may be harming the locals. We ask for wisdom and discernment for the leaders so that we can be a good church, part of a good government, and a good society. We pray for justice and fairness in the workplace, and that the locals will be treated with dignity and respect.
We also pray for the people of Singapore, that they will find ways to grow in this environment. We pray that they will seek Jesus Christ, for we are all equal in his blood. We pray that they will find comfort and strength in Him during these challenging times, and that they will have the good heart to pray for a good government. We pray that they will find ways to be a blessing to others, even in difficult circumstances. We pray that they will always remember that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved, and that by the name of Jesus Christ, and together in Jesus Christ, we can pray for a good church, a good government, and a good society.
We rebuke any spirit of corruption, greed, or selfish ambition that may be at work, and we ask for a hedge of protection around those who are standing up for justice and righteousness. We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will give each of us the ability to be a good government, as the government is on His shoulders.
We ask all of this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage everyone to remember the words of 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."
We must continue to pray for our leaders, that they may govern with wisdom, justice, and righteousness, but the bible tells us we are the true government, and that the government is on our shoulders as Christians. Do not be afraid to be involved in politics, but also do not be afraid to pray for a good church, a good government, and a good society.
