We are truly saddened to hear about the division and strife within your marriage and family. Let us first address the issue of hatred. The Bible tells us in
1 John 4:20 If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Hatred in the heart of your husband is not only a problem for your marriage but also for his relationship with God. Let us pray for him, that God would soften his heart and remove any hatred or bitterness he may be harboring. Let us pray that he, as well as you, would be filled with the love of God, which is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us. This is the only path to true unity and reconciliation.
Regarding the misunderstanding and favoritism shown towards one child, we must remember that God shows no partiality. In
Acts 10:34 Opening his mouth, Peter said, Truly I perceive that God is no respecter of persons
Let us pray that this attitude would be reflected in your husband's heart and actions. Favoritism can breed resentment and division among siblings, and it is important that he understands this.
However, it is also important for us to rebuke you, dear sister, for the spirit of jealousy or envy that may have risen up in you due to this situation. The Apostle James says in
James 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
We encourage you to trust God with the future of all your children. If you can focus on raising godly children rather than children who have gone to expensive schools, this will help to bring blessings rather than curses to your family.
Concerning your communication, it is important to remember the words of the Apostle Paul in
Ephesians 4:26 Be angry, and do not sin. Dont let the sun go down on your anger
It is not good to go long periods without speaking to each other. Communication is key in any marriage.
Finally, we notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your prayer request. It is only by His name that we can approach God the Father and ask for these needs to be met. In the future, please bring your requests to God in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, as it is written in
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Now, let us pray together for your family.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her husband. Lord, we ask that You would remove any hatred or bitterness in his heart and fill him with Your love. Help him to understand the importance of showing no partiality among his children, and give him wisdom in his decisions. We also pray for our sister, that You would help her to trust You with her children's future and remove any jealousy or envy that may be in her heart. We ask that You would restore communication between them and heal their marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
