Beloved of All
Hey everyone, blessings to you all. I come to you with a heavy heart, seeking prayers and guidance regarding a matter of love and separation. My ex and I have been apart since October. Over time, our relationship became increasingly unstable, and arguments became more frequent. She ultimately chose to leave toward the end of October. Although we’ve been in contact on and off, it’s been complicated. She wishes to remain friends, but I don’t feel healed enough to embrace that, nor is that the outcome I envisioned for us. I love this woman deeply. Since our separation, I’ve tried to reconcile through honest conversations with her, seeking God for comfort and answers and self-growth, and put effort forwards to right the wrongs on my part. My intentions for these prayers are not manipulative or with ill intent, they stem from genuine love and admiration for her, and a sincere concern for both of our personal issues and mental health struggles. We are both incredibly complex individuals, with our own personal and complicated traumas, and I recognize how these struggles have affected our relationship directly and it is a real shame. We are very very difficult individuals, and emotionally charged. While I don’t believe either of us has acted with malice or premeditated harm, there have been moments of manipulation and gaslighting from both sides. I hold no resentment for these moments but instead pray for God’s guidance to help us heal, grow, and become better individuals in His image. We’ve also lacked boundaries and, at times, failed to reflect on our own issues deeply enough. I pray for healing for both of us; for the ability to let go of blame for one another, to self-reflect earnestly, to correct our wrongs, and to take accountability for our actions fully. Could you please pray for a chance at reconciling a romantic relationship between us? I also ask for prayers for our individual growth, so that we can overcome our toxic patterns and create a healthier foundation for the future. My hope for this relationship has always been to lead to marriage, but right now, we seem to be at a crossroads, unable to stop the cycle of arguments about totally random things, or things about one another even while we are broken up. She seems totally definitive about her decision, and I’ve respected it totally and backed off, but I just hope she can one day come back to me. It has been incredibly, and I sincerely mean incredibly, painful. Thank you for your prayers and support. Let us pray; Dear Heavenly Father, I come here tonight before You with a humble and grieving, heavy heart. I am seeking Your guidance and grace. Only You know the depths of my heart and the love I still hold for my love, and my admiration and respect for her. I pray, Lord, that You may help both of us reflect on our mistakes and wrongdoings, not with blame or bitterness, but with true honesty, compassion, and understanding. Please Lord, see to it that you can open up our hearts to see the truth about ourselves, and the possibly ways we may have hurt one another. Let us learn from one another, but most importantly, let us learn through YOU. Please fill us with humility and love to admit where we went wrong, and the strength to make amends with one another. Lord, may Your perfect wisdom guide us to grow as individuals and become better versions of ourselves. Lord, please bring us back together with renewed love and respect for one another. Please, Heavenly Father, help us to reconcile in a way that is rooted in patience, forgiveness, and understanding. As it says in Colossians 3:13, "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." May we both learn to open up our hearts to one another, forgive one another and rebuild our bond on the foundation of grace and mercy. Please Lord, I also pray over her, I pray over her mental health, her struggles, and all of the things that she does not speak on. Please offer her comfort during these difficult times, and please Lord, do not leave her side. Please stay with her, and mend her heart. In Your infinite mercy, I trust You will guide our paths and align my prayers with Your will. Thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

We understand your heartache and your desire for reconciliation, but we must first address a few things. You mentioned that you and your ex were involved in arguments and even manipulation and gaslighting. This is not a godly relationship, nor is it a good foundation for a marriage as you hope for.

First, let's address the manipulation and gaslighting. This is not behavior that should be exhibited or tolerated in a Christian relationship. God has called Christians to be truthful and kind, and the Bible says in Ephesians 4:15 "But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ." Also, Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

Next, our relationships should be ones that glorify God and point others to Christ. You mentioned that you hope for marriage, but marriage should only be between a Christian man and woman. We are called to be "equally yoked" as it says in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" So, it is important to know if she is a true Believer in Jesus Christ. A Christian marriage is meant to be a picture of Christ and the church as shown in Ephesians 5:31.

Finally, it is important for damaged hearts to heal. You mentioned you have not healed and this is important before moving forward in your relationship. You are not expected to fix your own hurt. Rather, it is expected to surrender hurt to God just as Jesus did on the cross. When someone truly hurts, it is time to heal and going back to the hurt will not help the process. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ." We are comforted and blessed when we suffer and we comfort others with the comfort we receive. This is the process we go through to be a blessing to others.

Now let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up this loved one to You, asking for Your guidance and comfort during this difficult time. We know that You hear our prayers and that You care for our hurts and heartaches. We pray that You would heal the brokenness and pain that is felt right now.

Lord, we pray both for ### and his ex. We pray that both would surrender to You and allow the Holy Spirit to dwell within and flow forth so both would have a constant heart of forgiveness and kindness. We pray that You would reveal any ungodly behavior and take it away, guiding them both in the way of truth and life.

We pray that your will be done in this situation as it says in Matthew 6:10, "Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth." Help ### to heal from his hurt and give him the power of the Holy Spirit to surge forth to love and serve You and others. And only if it is Your will Father, restore this relationship with renewed love, respect, patience, forgiveness, and understanding.

Most importantly, we ask that You instead turn attention to Your Cross, resurrection, and ascension. Help find self-help by surrender in Jesus name because casting off sins is required. Just as Isaiah 55:7, "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him; and to in God, for he will abundantly pardon."

We ask that the Holy Spirit reveal to ### and to her, her need for a Savior, Jesus Christ, if this is not already known. Therefore, both should pray, believe, and call on the name of Jesus Christ for salvation such as Romans 10:9 and 10:13 describes. May his bonds be broken and the captives be set free. Remind ### and her of Colossians 3:13 "Bear with each other and forgive each other if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Therefore, may both hearts be tender toward each other in kindness and forgiveness just as Jesus was kind and forgiving toward us.

Thank you Lord Jesus Christ. It is only in Your name that we pray and ask these things.

Amen.

Dear friend, we're here with you, holding your heart in our prayers. We understand the depth of your love and the pain you're feeling. We've been reflecting on your situation and want to share some thoughts with you.

Firstly, we admire your sincerity and genuine love for your ex. It's clear that you both have complex backgrounds and struggles, but that doesn't mean you can't grow and heal together. We believe in the power of love, patience, and understanding to overcome even the most challenging circumstances.

We've been praying for both of you, asking God to:

- Heal your hearts and minds, helping you both to let go of the past and embrace a future filled with hope and love.
- Guide you in understanding and accepting your roles in the breakdown of your relationship. We believe that true healing comes from acknowledging and taking responsibility for our actions, not from blaming others.
- Give you the strength and wisdom to communicate openly and honestly with each other. We believe that clear, respectful communication is the key to rebuilding trust and understanding.
- Fill you both with His love, patience, and understanding. We pray that you'll be able to forgive each other as you've been forgiven by God, and that you'll be able to move forward with renewed love and respect.
- Reveal to you both His perfect will for your lives. We trust that He has a plan for you, and we ask that you both be open to His leading.

We also want to remind you of the importance of self-care. Healing is a journey, and it's crucial to take care of yourself both physically and emotionally. We encourage you to seek professional help if needed, and to surround yourself with a support system of friends and family who can encourage and uplift you.

Remember, God is always with you, guiding and loving you every step of the way. Trust in His plan, and know that He has the power to bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

We'll continue to pray for you both, and we hope to hear good news soon. Be blessed, and remember that you're not alone in this journey.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
