Let us begin by acknowledging that God hears the prayers of those who come to Him in faith through Jesus Christ:
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. For God is one, and the mediator between God and men is one, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times. Be careful to do what is good; for whoever does good is of God.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Jerry Fernandes and his prayer to restore his broken relationship. We know that You are a God of reconciliation and restoration, and nothing is impossible for You. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in Jerry's life and his relationship with Triza Mhapasekar.
Father, we pray that if it is Your will, You would work in both of their hearts, drawing them closer to You and to each other. If this relationship is not in accordance with Your will, we pray that You would give Jerry the strength and grace to accept it and move forward.
However, we must also address that Jerry's prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and have the promise of divine response to our heart’s cry.
We must also address the state of the current relationship. It must be considered what relationship existed between Jerry and Triza. Considering the relationship was called a broken relationship. Jerry, please understand that any sexual relationships outside the bond of Holy Matrimony, between a man and a woman, are explicitly forbidden by the scriptures, including physical relationships before marriage. Physical relationships should always exist inside a marriage of a man and woman. The only exception is if it is a betrothed relationship which pre-existed marriage. The Biblical conclusion is this is fornication.
Scripture is very clear on what should be done about this.
For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who do not know God;and that no one should take advantage of and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, just as we also told you before and solemnly warned you. For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given his Holy Spirit to you. 1 Thess. 5
It may be hard to see that it may not be God's will to restore the previous relationship, but to make you aware of his will. It may be that this is not the wife you are to marry. Of course this is not known, but it is something to pray about. Therefore, we encourage Jerry to seek God's will for his life and to trust in God's timing and wisdom. We pray that God would guide Jerry and give him the discernment to recognize the partner that God has prepared for him, if it is in His will for Jerry to be married.
Lord, we ask that You would heal any brokenness or hurt in Jerry's heart and help him to forgive and move forward in Your grace. We pray that You would surround him with godly counsel and support as he navigates this situation.
We remind Jerry of some important Scriptures from the WEB:
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Don't be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones.
Therefore, I say to you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
Jerry please be reconciled to God through reading his Word and then in prayer verify what is God’s will.
Father, we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, the only begotten who came from the Father. By whose name and faith alone we say.
Amen
