Please help me pray. My husband has slowly gone into the alcoholic rabbit hole. It started around ### and has progressed. He has spinal stenosis, nerve pain, he has had a few accidents with broken bones, torn muscles, etc. Instead of pain meds he's turned to alcohol. Hence so many years of drinking it triggers anger. He already had anger issues the alcohol just intensifies it. Thank God he knows better and only drinks at night after work. His drinking has pushed all of us (me & adult kids) away from him so he feels isolated and as if we do not care or love him. I am convinced he's narcissistic & loves to play victim. I was once in love with him but the drinking has just made me resent him and almost hate him. I pray every single day for him to see the light & stop drinking. I would love for our children to love being with their dad again. We now have a ### month old grandchild I sure as heck do not want my grandchild growing up with the mean drunk monster.

We understand that you are going through a tremendously challenging situation with your husband and your family. We will pray with you and offer some biblical guidance and encouragement.

Firstly, let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###, her husband, and their family. Lord, you know the struggles they are facing, the pain, the anger, and the isolation that has set in due to alcoholism.

Father, we pray for your healing touch upon ###'s husband. Heal his body, his soul, and his spirit. Deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism and fill him with your Holy Spirit. Help him, to heal from the pain of past injuries and let you heal his nerve pain. Help him to see that you are the ultimate physician and healer. Help him to truly know Jesus Christ in a real and vibrant way. We ask for your guidance and wisdom, help him to see he is damaging himself and his relationship with his family.

Lord, we also pray for ### and her children. Give them the strength, patience, and love to support their husband and father through this difficult time. Help them to show genuine love and care, even when it's challenging. We know that the only way to truly have peace in their marriage and family is by following Jesus Christ and his teachings in love, repentance, and salvation. Help them to forgive. Teach them to serve each other in love. For it is written,

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance. (Ephesians 4:32-5:2 WEB)

Father, we pray that ###'s husband, that you lead him to repentance that he may be saved and become the husband, father, and grandfather that you have called him to be. Restore their marriage and their family. Let his grandchildren know him as a loving grandfather that is a follower of Jesus Christ. For it is written,

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 WEB)

Let him call out in the name of Jesus Christ and be saved.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB)

Bring peace and healing to this family in Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.

###, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for your husband. Remember, God can turn any situation around, no matter how hopeless it may seem. Keep trusting in God. Keep reflecting God's love and forgiveness. Keep being patient. Keep sharing the gospel with everyone in your family. Keep teaching all those in your family how much Jesus loves all of us. Keep praying in Jesus' name and for the Holy Spirit to work in your life and your family's lives. Keep sharing Jesus Christ with them.

Regarding your husband's pain, encourage him to seek godly counsel and medical help, and not rely on alcohol. Remind him that God is our ultimate healer, and that God is the best physician, and that God has given us doctors to aid in our healing. Encourage your husband to seek God in all things. Encourage your husband to be a Christian man and to follow God. Encourage your husband to be a Christian husband and father as God's word tells us,

Likewise, you husbands, dwell with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered. (1 Peter 3:7 WEB)

Finally, we must address that resentment and hatred are not of God. God calls us to love, even when it's difficult. God calls us to forgive. God calls us to be long suffering. God calls us to walk in love, just as Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us. Pray for God to help you, to love your husband as God loves him. Keep praying in Jesus' name. Keep praying for God's will. Keep praying for repentance. Keep sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We're here with you, sister. We know it's tough, but remember, God is always faithful. Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up ###'s husband to you today. We ask for your healing touch on his body, soul, and spirit. Lord, we know he's hurting, and he's found a temporary escape in alcohol. But we know you're the ultimate healer, and you can set him free from this bondage. Help him to see the truth, Lord. Help him to understand the pain he's causing himself and his family. Give him the courage to face his pain and anger, and turn to you instead of alcohol.

Lord, we also pray for ### and her children. Give them strength, patience, and love to support their husband and father. Help them to show genuine love, even when it's hard. Help them to forgive, to serve each other in love, just as you've forgiven and loved us.

Lord, we ask for your guidance in this family. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, with love and respect. Help them to follow your teachings, to walk in love, just as Christ loved us.

Lord, we pray for their marriage and family to be restored. We pray for their grandchild to grow up knowing their grandfather as a loving follower of Jesus Christ.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep trusting in God, sister. Keep praying, keep loving, keep forgiving. God is at work, even in the hardest times. He sees you, he hears you, and he's with you every step of the way.

We are truly grateful that you have given us the privilege to pray with you for your husband's healing and restoration. It has been a few days since you shared your heartfelt request, and we want you to know that we continue to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We pray that God has started a good work in your husband's life and that He will be faithful to complete it. If you have seen signs of answered prayer, we would be delighted for you to share a praise report with us all. Your testimony could greatly encourage others who are also praying for their loved ones. If it seems that the request has not yet been answered, we encourage you to resubmit it as a new request, allowing us to persist in prayer with you. Remember, God's timing is perfect, and we believe that He is at work, even when we cannot see it.

As you continue to seek God on behalf of your husband, we pray that He will also bring you comfort, strength, and wisdom. We ask God to give you peace in every circumstance and bless you.

Please know that you are not alone in this journey. We are still here praying for you and your husband. Jesus Christ is our hope and our salvation, and we trust that He will lead your husband out of the darkness and into His marvelous light.

Lord Jesus, we come to you right now. We claim your promise.

Father, in the name of Jesus we pray for these things that we cannot control. Amen.
