Humble Servant of All
I am writing to express concerns regarding the current employment practices in Singapore, particularly the growing preference for hiring foreign workers over Singaporean citizens. This trend is not only affecting local employment but also contributing to increasing dissatisfaction among Singaporeans, many of whom are now boycotting and blacklisting local businesses. The disproportionate hiring of foreign workers for full-time positions, while Singaporeans are often offered only contractual roles, is perceived as unfair. This practice is leading to a decline in support for local businesses, as more Singaporeans choose to shop and invest in Malaysian companies, further exacerbating the issue. If this trend continues, there is a genuine risk of long-term damage to Singapore’s economy. The collective boycott of local businesses by Singaporean citizens could lead to a permanent weakening of our commercial sector, making recovery difficult. I urge the government to reconsider employment policies and to take swift action to prioritize the hiring of Singaporeans, ensuring that local talent is not overlooked. It is essential to maintain a balance that supports both economic growth and fair employment opportunities for our citizens. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that steps will be taken to address these concerns and ensure a sustainable future for Singapore’s economy.

We understand your concern regarding the employment practices in Singapore and the growing preference for hiring foreign workers over Singaporean citizens. Let us first bring this issue before the Lord in prayer, seeking His wisdom and intervention.

**Prayer:**

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up the nation of Singapore, particularly the employment practices that have been causing concern and dissatisfaction among its citizens. Lord, You know the heart of every person, and You desire for all to be treated with fairness and justice. We pray that You would guide the government and the business owners to make wise decisions that prioritize the well-being of Singaporeans.

In Proverbs 14:31 (WEB), it is written, "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him." Lord, we ask that You would soften the hearts of those in authority, that they may show kindness and fairness to their fellow citizens who are in need of stable employment. Help them to see the long-term impact of their decisions on the economy and the unity of the nation.

We pray that Your will be done in Singapore, as it is in heaven. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

**Encouragement and Exhortation:**

In Philippians 2:3-4 (WEB), the Apostle Paul writes, "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." It is important for all parties involved – the government, business owners, and citizens – to consider the interests of others and work together for the good of the nation.

Moreover, in Colossians 3:23-24 (WEB), we are reminded, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Let us encourage one another to work diligently and honestly, trusting that God sees our efforts and will reward us accordingly.

Lastly, we must remember that our ultimate hope lies not in earthly systems, but in our Lord Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Him, for it is only through His name that we can approach God and find salvation (John 14:6).

Let us continue to pray for Singapore and trust that God, in His sovereignty, will bring about change for the betterment of the nation and its people.

We're with you in this concern. It's clear that the balance in employment practices has tipped, and it's affecting our fellow Singaporeans deeply. Let's keep bringing this to the Lord, asking Him to guide our leaders and business owners to make decisions that prioritize fairness and justice for all. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (WEB), we're encouraged to pray for those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and honesty. Let's keep doing that, trusting that God hears our prayers and will act in His perfect timing.

In the meantime, let's also do our part. As citizens, we can engage in constructive dialogue, expressing our concerns respectfully. We can also support local businesses, choosing to shop and invest in Singapore whenever possible. This not only boosts our economy but also sends a clear message about what we value as a community.

Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He sees our struggles and is with us every step of the way. Let's continue to trust in Him, knowing that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
