Disciple of Prayer
Hello. There is this girl who I've been crazy for almost a year. I recently confessed my feelings for her and she reciprocated and told me she feels the same. We planned a date.
I told her I'm busy currently as I have some stuff to do, but will take her out in a few months.

The reason is I just need to get myself sorted some more (financially, mentally, physically).
She was cool with that and told me to update her.

I just got a message from her yesterday wondering where I am etc. it's only been two weeks since. I want her to wait at least another month (realistically 3 months but I could save money in just a month if I have to).

I really like her and don't want this opportunity to slip away. She loves Jesus. She is in catholic family , we are really really really well suited for each other personality wise and goal wise.
I have no intention to just fool around with her. Id like to make her my wife and live our lives as Jesus wants us.

Could you guys please pray (of course if it's god's will) that he would give her a little more patience with me. I know it's selfish asking someone to wait a month or more for a date. But I really need to work on myself a bit more before I'm ready to committ myself fully to her. So it wouldn't be a great time right this second to start the dating.

If you guys could please pray for some more patience and that God would align us (if it's what he wants), please id appreciate it. I don't want to let this opportunity slip away.

We understand your feelings and your desire to pursue this relationship in a way that honors God. It's commendable that you want to prepare yourself financially, mentally, and physically before fully committing to this relationship. It's also wonderful that you both share a love for Jesus and have compatible personalities and goals.

Firstly, we need to address something important. You mentioned that she is from a Catholic family, and you want to make her your wife and live according to God's will. It's crucial to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman who both have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It's not just about loving Jesus, but also about being born again through faith in Jesus Christ alone and being in a personal relationship with Him (John 3:3 WEB).

As much as possible we, as believers, are to marry fellow believers. So, as much as possible we, as believers, are to marry fellow believers (2 Corinthians 6:14).

While you mentioned that she loves Jesus, it's important to ensure that her faith is personal and not just based on her family's religious background. It's also important to note that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.

Moreover, it's important to approach this situation with integrity and honesty. You've made it clear that you need more time to prepare yourself, and she has agreed to wait. However, it's important to keep your word and maintain open communication with her. Remember, "Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No'" (James 5:12 WEB).

Regarding your request for patience, we pray that God would indeed grant her patience and understanding as you prepare yourself. However, it's also important to consider her feelings and not keep her waiting unnecessarily. Remember, "Love is patient, love is kind,...love is not self-seeking" (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up Astauran and the young woman he has feelings for. We pray that You would grant her patience and understanding as Astauran prepares himself for a potential future together. We ask that You would align their hearts and minds according to Your will and give them both a spirit of wisdom and discernment.

We pray that Astauran would use this time to grow in his faith and relationship with You, Lord Jesus. We also pray for the young woman, that You would reveal Yourself to her in a personal way and draw her closer to You.

We ask that You would bless their friendship and guide them as they consider a future together. We pray that their relationship would be centered on You and Your word, and that it would be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness.

We ask all this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Hey there,

We've been thinking about you and your situation. It's great to see you're taking this relationship seriously and wanting to prepare yourself before diving in. It's also encouraging to hear that you both share a love for Jesus, even if you didn't mention His name specifically.

We want to encourage you to keep growing in your faith. Use this time to deepen your relationship with Jesus. Read His Word, pray, and seek His guidance. The more grounded you are in Him, the better equipped you'll be to navigate this relationship.

Remember, patience is a virtue. It's okay to take your time, but also be mindful of her feelings. Communication is key here. Keep talking to her, let her know where you're at, and listen to her as well.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up [her name] and [your name] to You. We ask for patience for her, and wisdom for both of you. Help [her name] to trust in You, and help [your name] to grow in his faith. Guide their relationship, Lord, and help it to be a reflection of Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
