Thank you for reaching out to us. We stand with you in prayer during this challenging season in your marriage. The Bible teaches us in Philippians 4:13 (WEB), "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This includes the restoration and healing of your marriage.
Firstly, we want to address the infidelity in your marriage. This is a serious breach of trust and God’s design for marriage. The Bible is clear in Exodus 20:14 (WEB), "You shall not commit adultery." However, God’s grace is sufficient for all sins, and forgiveness and restoration are possible through Christ. As it is written in 1 John 1:9 (WEB), "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
It is encouraging that neither of you wants a divorce, as God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16 WEB). Instead, He desires marriages to reflect His love and faithfulness. We pray that you both turn to God for healing, forgiveness, and the strength to rebuild your relationship.
In your time of depression and medical issues, remember the words of Isaiah 41:10 (WEB), "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine intervention in this marriage. Lord, we acknowledge the infidelity and the pain it has caused. We ask for Your forgiveness and for the healing of all wounds. Please touch their hearts, Jesus, and help them to forgive each other as You have forgiven us. Strengthen them to face these challenges and restore their bond. Lord, comfort and heal them physically, mentally, and emotionally. Give them hope and the assurance of Your unfailing love. We lift this marriage up to You, trusting that You will work all things for their good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek God together and trust in Him. Consider attending marriage counseling together, as the input from a Christian counselor can be invaluable. Remember, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26 WEB). Cling to that hope and to each other in Christ.
