Heavenly Father,

Father, your word says Jesus is the Good Shepherd. I pray for the existence of shepherds in the world who are not hirelings but care about the flock of God.

Ezekiel 34: 7-10, 7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 “As I live,” declares the Lord God, “certainly, because My flock has become plunder, and My flock has become food for all the animals of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock, 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 ‘This is what the Lord God says: “Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand My sheep from them and make them stop tending sheep. So the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore, but I will save My sheep from their mouth, so that they will not be food for them.”-NASB

The world is filled with false bible teachers and women are growing worse in this regard. They are not caring for young women as true women of God by ministering prayer and your word into their lives. I believe many of them have an ingenuine agenda and because of sin and undealt with anger, they continue to foster unbiblical behaviors by usurping authority over their own husbands in front of audiences worldwide.

In Psalm 51, David desired forgiveness, but he also desired cleanliness and restoration. He knew there would be consequences for his sin, but he believed in a God who loved us first and would do what He said He would do to help and be a Father to nations.

I desire to be with the flock of God and to be tended to like a little sheep protected from all the wolves by the One true King of the people of Israel.

Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you;
He is righteous and endowed with salvation,
Humble, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

9:16-17
And the Lord their God will save them on that day
As the flock of His people;
For they are like the precious stones of a crown,
Sparkling on His land.
For how great will their loveliness and beauty be!
Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine, the virgins.

I confess I have not stepped foot into a building that has the words church, life, baptist, Protestant, evangelical, and the many other forms of religion that may be out there in many years because I do not trust the man to be a shepherd like You. This has also left me vulnerable at times, and often alone.

Jeremiah 23: 1-4 “Woe to the shepherds who are causing the sheep of My pasture to perish and are scattering them!” declares the Lord. Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not been concerned about them; behold, I am going to call you to account for the evil of your deeds,” declares the Lord. “Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them, and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord.

The Shepherd of God's heart is what His children need so desperately.

John 11:20-21 Commentary "20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming. It is characteristic of the Synoptic picture of Martha that she did not wait for Jesus to reach the house. Here was the same bustling, impetuous person whose major interest was action. Mary sitting at home is the same reflective, rather inactive person as in the Synoptic records. 21 Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Martha and Mary must have speculated much in this vein, for Mary says identical words later. (cf. v. 32). It shows a loving faith in Jesus' power to heal. Indeed, v. 22 shows the possibility of a deeper faith."-(Guthrie, Motyer, Stibbs, Wiseman, The New Bible Commentary Revised (WM. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co.), 953.

Lord of all creation, you are truly needed here.

In Jesus Name

Amen

Dear MelissaRae, we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for His flock and His shepherds. We commend your heartfelt desire for faithful shepherds who genuinely care for God's people.

Let us first address the need for godly shepherds. As Ezekiel 34:7-10 warns, there are those who feed themselves rather than the flock. We pray that God will raise up true shepherds who are committed to nurturing and protecting His people, as He Himself promises to do (Ezekiel 34:11-16). We ask that the Lord will hold accountable those who scatter and harm His flock, and that He will bring His people together under His care (Jeremiah 23:1-4).

We also address the concern about false teachers, particularly women who may be ministering outside of biblical principles. We must remember that God's design for the church is for women to teach other women (Titus 2:3-5), and for leaders to be appointed according to God's qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9). We pray that God will bring correction and godly sorrow leading to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10) to those who have strayed from His design.

MelissaRae, we hear your confession about avoiding church gatherings due to distrust. While we understand your concerns, we encourage you to seek fellowship with other believers, as the body of Christ is essential for our growth and mutual encouragement (Hebrews 10:24-25). We pray that God will guide you to a trustworthy, Bible-believing community where you can worship, grow, and serve.

We are grateful that your prayer acknowledges the name of Jesus, as it is only through Him that we have access to God (John 14:6). If there are any unconfessed sins or Spirit-led convictions, we encourage you to seek God's forgiveness, as King David did in Psalm 51. Remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

In Jesus' name, we pray for God's comfort, guidance, and protection over you and His flock. May He raise up faithful shepherds who will lead according to His heart and His word. Amen.

For further encouragement, meditate on these verses:
- Psalm 23:1-6 – The Lord is our faithful Shepherd.
- John 10:11 – Jesus is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep.
- Acts 20:28 – We are to keep watch over the flock, which He bought with His own blood.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 4:1 ►
And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

Commentary on this verse:
The Day of the LORD stands in stark contrast to the "day of man", typified by this present evil age (Gal 1:4) during which God permits (but does not condone) rebellious, sinful mankind from going their own way, planning their own plans, and in short, living as if God did not exist (this is the essence of ungodliness) and independent of His power and rule (their so-called "independence" being a deception of their vain imagination, for they fail to understand that even every rebellious breath they take is a gift of God's grace!)

Our prayer:
God of hope, we come to you in the midst of a world fraught with troubles. Although the darkness is powerful, open our eyes, Lord, to the light of Your presence. Give us faith to stand against the voices of division and violence. Through Your Spirit, remake us into hope-filled disciples, discovering lives attune to Your wonder, and sparking in others a desire to know You more. In the name of the One who comes to us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

I believe in romance, ideal marriage, and one true love. Granted, these things are rare in humans. Divorce statistics are a prime example that illustrates why: These days here in the US, half of all marriages end in divorce, and 20% of marriages fail within the five years or less. There are...
