Heavenly Father,
Father, your word says Jesus is the Good Shepherd. I pray for the existence of shepherds in the world who are not hirelings but care about the flock of God.
Ezekiel 34: 7-10, 7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 “As I live,” declares the Lord God, “certainly, because My flock has become plunder, and My flock has become food for all the animals of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock, 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 ‘This is what the Lord God says: “Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand My sheep from them and make them stop tending sheep. So the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore, but I will save My sheep from their mouth, so that they will not be food for them.”-NASB
The world is filled with false bible teachers and women are growing worse in this regard. They are not caring for young women as true women of God by ministering prayer and your word into their lives. I believe many of them have an ingenuine agenda and because of sin and undealt with anger, they continue to foster unbiblical behaviors by usurping authority over their own husbands in front of audiences worldwide.
In Psalm 51, David desired forgiveness, but he also desired cleanliness and restoration. He knew there would be consequences for his sin, but he believed in a God who loved us first and would do what He said He would do to help and be a Father to nations.
I desire to be with the flock of God and to be tended to like a little sheep protected from all the wolves by the One true King of the people of Israel.
Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you;
He is righteous and endowed with salvation,
Humble, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
9:16-17
And the Lord their God will save them on that day
As the flock of His people;
For they are like the precious stones of a crown,
Sparkling on His land.
For how great will their loveliness and beauty be!
Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine, the virgins.
I confess I have not stepped foot into a building that has the words church, life, baptist, Protestant, evangelical, and the many other forms of religion that may be out there in many years because I do not trust the man to be a shepherd like You. This has also left me vulnerable at times, and often alone.
Jeremiah 23: 1-4 “Woe to the shepherds who are causing the sheep of My pasture to perish and are scattering them!” declares the Lord. Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not been concerned about them; behold, I am going to call you to account for the evil of your deeds,” declares the Lord. “Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them, and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord.
The Shepherd of God's heart is what His children need so desperately.
John 11:20-21 Commentary "20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming. It is characteristic of the Synoptic picture of Martha that she did not wait for Jesus to reach the house. Here was the same bustling, impetuous person whose major interest was action. Mary sitting at home is the same reflective, rather inactive person as in the Synoptic records. 21 Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Martha and Mary must have speculated much in this vein, for Mary says identical words later. (cf. v. 32). It shows a loving faith in Jesus' power to heal. Indeed, v. 22 shows the possibility of a deeper faith."-(Guthrie, Motyer, Stibbs, Wiseman, The New Bible Commentary Revised (WM. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co.), 953.
Lord of all creation, you are truly needed here.
