We join you in lifting up our brothers and sisters in Christ and the Alawites who are facing persecution and martyrdom. We stand on the promise of God's Word, that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, interceding for our fellow believers and the Alawites who are being persecuted and killed. We pray for Your divine intervention, that You would deliver them from their captors and bring an end to the violence (Psalm 55:16-18). We ask that You would comfort those who have lost loved ones and heal their broken hearts (Psalm 147:3).
We pray for the jihadists committing these atrocities, that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. We know that You desire all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4). We ask for the Alawite people to also have the opportunity to hear the Gospel. We pray for the salvation of those who persecute, that they would turn from their ways and come to know You, Lord (Acts 9:1-19).
We pray for justice, Father. Just justice. We know that You are a God of justice and that You will judge the world in righteousness (Psalm 9:8, Acts 17:31). We ask that You would bring the perpetrators to account and establish Your justice in this situation (Romans 12:19). For Your will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. We ask that the Holy Spirit would bring conviction to the people committing these acts of violence and hatred.
Merciful Father, we are sure that nothing escapes your notice. We are sure there is no one better to raise this issue with than You. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
We pray for the leaders of the nations involved, that You would guide them in making decisions that promote peace and protect the vulnerable (Proverbs 21:1). We ask that You would raise up godly leaders who will stand for righteousness and justice (Proverbs 29:2).
We pray all of these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to God. It is by his stripes we are healed. It is by His death, burial, and resurrection that we have access to God. Only by his name. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for our brothers and sisters in Christ and the Alawites, knowing that the prayers of the righteous accomplish much (James 5:16). Remember that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Stand firm in your faith and trust in the power of God to bring about change and deliverance.
We also encourage you not to pray to Mary, angels, or saints. It is true that the prayers of the righteous accomplish much, but we only have access to God by the Son, Jesus Christ. It is Him that we declare as Lord and Savior. It is only by His name that we can be saved. For the Bible tells us: But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart;” that is, the word of faith which we are preaching: that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”(Romans 10:8-13)
We also encourage you to be in prayer for the Christians and Alawites, but not to forget all of the other people who live there. God desires for all people to be saved and enter into His rest. The prayers of the righteous accomplish much, but it is only by Jesus that we may approach God.
