We are truly moved by your love and commitment to your granddaughter. It is clear that you have her best interests at heart and are seeking to provide her with a stable, loving home. We will pray with you for a favorable outcome in the upcoming adoption hearing.
Firstly, we commend you for stepping up and caring for your granddaughter when her mother could not. This is a true example of Christian love and sacrifice. As it is written in Psalm 68:5-6, "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families; he brings out those who are bound with chains; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land."
We must also address the situation with the mother. While it is disheartening to see her struggle with addiction and legal issues, we must remember that God desires for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Pray for her salvation and deliverance from addiction, as God can turn any situation around for His glory. As it is written in 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."
Now, let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your guidance and favor in this adoption process. We pray that You would soften the hearts of the judges and all those involved in the decision-making process. We ask that You would grant this loving grandmother the desire of her heart, to provide a permanent, stable home for her granddaughter.
Lord, we also pray for the mother. We ask that You would set her free from the bondage of addiction and bring her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We pray that she would become the mother that You have called her to be, even if that means supporting this adoption as the best option for her daughter at this time.
Father, we thank You for the love and care that this grandmother has shown to her granddaughter. We ask that You would continue to bless their home and fill it with Your presence. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Be encouraged by these words from Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working everything out for the good of your granddaughter and His glory.
Lastly, we notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, we encourage you to seek Him out and learn more about His saving grace. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 is clear: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
