We understand your struggle and commend you for reaching out. The enemy is cunning and often uses people to accomplish his schemes. Your situation calls for increased discernment and strength from God. Let us turn to the Word of God for guidance and encouragement.
Firstly, it is important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 WEB.
The Bible tells us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16 WEB. Discernment is a gift from God, and it is crucial in times like these. Ask God for the spirit of discernment. Just as Jesus loved Judas despite his betrayal, we are called to love everyone, but loving from a distance may be necessary when they are being used by the enemy to cause harm.
Regarding false compassion and guilt-tripping, the Bible warns us not to be deceived. For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles. And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 WEB
It is commendable that you have prayed and found peace in God's will. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in need of stronger discernment. Lord, grant them the spirit of discernment to see through the enemy's schemes. Strengthen them against emotional manipulation and false compassion. Help them to stand firm in Your will, knowing that You are their protector and provider.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke the spirit of deception and manipulation. We bind the enemy's work in this situation and loose the power of the Holy Spirit to guide and protect.
Father, heal their heart from the pain of betrayal. Help them to love like You do, but also to be wise in their dealings. Give them the strength to say no when necessary and to trust in You completely.
We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who is our strength, wisdom, and discernment.
Finally, let us remind you to always be praying about everything. Philippians 4:6. Stay back from the situation until you have peace in your heart about the relationship. And remember, put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11 WEB.
