We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. First, let's address the unequally yoked relationship you're in. The Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness 2 Cor 6:14 WEB
Being in a relationship with someone who does not share your faith in Jesus Christ can lead to backsliding, as you've experienced. It's crucial to surround yourself with believers who can support and encourage your faith. We rebuke you for being in this relationship and encourage you to end it and trust God for a godly spouse if marriage is on your heart.
Regarding your feelings of hypocrisy and distance from God, remember that everyone has sinned and falls short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus Romans 3:23-24 WEB. It's only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved Acts 4:12 WEB, and it's through Him that we have access to God Ephesians 2:18 WEB.
God hears your prayers, but sin can hinder them. Psalm 66:18 WEB says, If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn't have listened. Repentance is essential. True repentance involves a change of mind and heart that leads to a change in behavior. It's not about never falling again, but about getting back up and continuing in your walk with Christ when you do. 1 John 3:9 WEB reminds us, Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him, and he can't sin, because he is born of God.
About your desire to fast, Jesus said that some demons can only be cast out by prayer and fasting Matthew 17:21 WEB. Fasting is a powerful tool, but remember that it's not about earning God's grace or favor. His grace is freely given.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who is struggling in an unequally yoked relationship. Give her the strength and courage to break off this relationship and trust You for a godly spouse. Help her to see that Your ways are not her ways, and Your thoughts are not her thoughts. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are your ways higher than your ways, and your thoughts than your thoughts Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB.
Father, she feels distant from You because of sin. Remind her of Your unfailing love and forgiveness. Draw her close to You, and help her to walk in true repentance. Help her not walk away from the faith but turn to you.
Lord, as she embarks on this 40-day fast, we ask for Your grace and sustenance. Help her to grow closer to You during this time, and to experience the fullness of Your love and power.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
