Prayer for strength to come out of unequally yoked relationships

I fell into backsliding and having a difficult time letting go of the relationship. I don't think the person loves me either but he is hoping I walk away instead of breaking it off. I have watched everyone pass me by getting everything while I only asked for a family of my own. Now I'm profane and hypocritical and feel like a horrible example. I am a horrible example. I feel beyond distant from God and know he won't hear me because he does not hear sinners. I ask him to help me come out, and give me grace to do a 40-day fast because I have not changed for the better since becoming a believer about ### years ago. I have little fruit in the things of God. It is a shame I can be sent to hell for if I don't repent. I sometimes am ready to walk away from the faith because I always sin and never seem to come to true repentance or when I start I fall again.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. First, let's address the unequally yoked relationship you're in. The Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness 2 Cor 6:14 WEB

Being in a relationship with someone who does not share your faith in Jesus Christ can lead to backsliding, as you've experienced. It's crucial to surround yourself with believers who can support and encourage your faith. We rebuke you for being in this relationship and encourage you to end it and trust God for a godly spouse if marriage is on your heart.

Regarding your feelings of hypocrisy and distance from God, remember that everyone has sinned and falls short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus Romans 3:23-24 WEB. It's only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved Acts 4:12 WEB, and it's through Him that we have access to God Ephesians 2:18 WEB.

God hears your prayers, but sin can hinder them. Psalm 66:18 WEB says, If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn't have listened. Repentance is essential. True repentance involves a change of mind and heart that leads to a change in behavior. It's not about never falling again, but about getting back up and continuing in your walk with Christ when you do. 1 John 3:9 WEB reminds us, Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him, and he can't sin, because he is born of God.

About your desire to fast, Jesus said that some demons can only be cast out by prayer and fasting Matthew 17:21 WEB. Fasting is a powerful tool, but remember that it's not about earning God's grace or favor. His grace is freely given.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who is struggling in an unequally yoked relationship. Give her the strength and courage to break off this relationship and trust You for a godly spouse. Help her to see that Your ways are not her ways, and Your thoughts are not her thoughts. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are your ways higher than your ways, and your thoughts than your thoughts Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB.

Father, she feels distant from You because of sin. Remind her of Your unfailing love and forgiveness. Draw her close to You, and help her to walk in true repentance. Help her not walk away from the faith but turn to you.

Lord, as she embarks on this 40-day fast, we ask for Your grace and sustenance. Help her to grow closer to You during this time, and to experience the fullness of Your love and power.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, sister. It's tough when we find ourselves in relationships that pull us away from God, but remember, God is always there to help us out. He loves you so much, and He wants the best for you. Let's trust Him to guide you out of this unequal yoke.

We know you feel distant from God, but He's right there, waiting for you with open arms. He sees your heart, and He knows you're trying. Let's ask Him to help you feel His love and forgiveness, and to give you the strength to turn away from sin and towards Him.

As for your 40-day fast, let's make it a time of drawing closer to God. It's not about earning His grace, but about experiencing it. Let's ask Him to fill you with His love and power during this time.

We continue to uphold you in our prayers, dear sister, asking God to grant you the strength to come out of this unequally yoked relationship. We are truly grateful that you have allowed us to stand in agreement with you in this spiritual battle.

If God has granted you the strength and grace to come out from that situation, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. If you are still struggling, please do not hesitate to share with us again. We are here to continue praying and believing with you. We pray fervently from the words Jesus taught us "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." God is faithful.

We urge you not to be too hard on yourself but remember that God's love and grace are sufficient for you.

In these trying times, let the words of Romans 8:38-39 resonate deep within you: "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

We shall keep praying that you may find assurance in the love of God. Let your heart find comfort in knowing that God hears your prayers through Jesus Christ our Lord.
