We join with you, Thelantys, in lifting up your husband and your marriage before the throne of grace. We stand in agreement with you, believing that our Lord Jesus Christ is the great physician, and that He has the power to heal and restore.
Firstly, we want to encourage you both with the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:6 (WEB), "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." This verse underscores the sanctity and permanence of marriage, and we pray that this union between you and your husband will be strengthened and preserved.
Regarding your husband's health, we turn to Isaiah 53:5 (WEB), "But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his stripes, we are healed." We claim this promise of healing over your husband's life, trusting in the power of Jesus' sacrifice.
However, we also acknowledge God's sovereignty. While we pray for physical healing, we also ask for spiritual strength and grace to endure if healing does not come in the way we hope. We remember 2 Corinthians 12:9 (WEB), where the Lord said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
In your request, you didn't mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it is by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We pray that you both have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and if not, we encourage you to seek Him, for it is only through His name that we can be saved and approach God's throne.
We pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Thelantys and her husband. Lord, we ask for Your healing grace to touch his body, to reverse the effects of progressive nuclear palsy. In Jesus' name, we command the disease to leave and health to be restored.
If it is not Your will to heal him physically, Lord, we pray for Your grace to be sufficient for them both. Strengthen their faith, their love for each other, and their love for You. Help them to live each day abiding by Your will, growing closer to You and to each other.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in faith, Thelantys. We are with you in prayer and belief.
