We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle with addiction in your marriage, and we commend you for keeping the faith and seeking help through prayer. Addiction is a formidable challenge, but God can help Curtis with any problem. Please know that our hearts go out to you and your family during this difficult time. God is faithful, and He will guide you through this trial.
Firstly, we must acknowledge that the power of The Bible has the solution to the problem. We can find many verses in the Bible that talk about temptation, self-control, and God's ability to save us from sin and addiction. Seek Him and His Truth to help us.
The Bible tells us, For God so loved the world, that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. (John 3:16-17 WEB).
It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have the power to overcome sin and addiction. Please ensure that Curtis knows and believes that Jesus is the only way to salvation.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Curtis and his family to You. Lord, we know that addiction is a powerful stronghold, but we also know that Your power is greater. We pray that You will break the chains of addiction in Curtis's life and set him free from this bondage.
We pray, Father, that You will give Curtis the strength and courage to seek help and to take the necessary steps towards recovery. We ask that You will surround him with supportive and Godly influences, and that You will guide him to the right resources and people who can help him overcome this struggle.
We also pray for his family, Lord. We ask that You will give them the strength, patience, and wisdom to support Curtis during this difficult time. We pray that their love and support will be a source of encouragement and motivation for Curtis as he seeks to overcome addiction.
Lord, we know that You are a God of miracles, and we believe that You can save Curtis from this addiction.
Finally, we pray that as a marriage and family you all can find a church home for support and fellowship. We are not meant to go at this alone.
We ask this in the powerful and precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed: for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9 WEB)
Please know that you are not alone in this struggle. We are here with you, praying and believing that God will work a miracle in Curtis's life. Remember that God is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust in Him, and He will see you through this trial.
It is important to remember that you can not save Curtis. Only God can perform that miracle. It is easy to become co-dependent on a spouse that is experiencing addiction and begin to try to solve the problem. Be sure to set loving boundaries and be sure to protect yourself and your children. It is important to seek support for yourself and not just Curtis. Also, be sure that physical and emotional safety is maintained for yourself and your children.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don't lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
(Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB)
Please keep us updated on Curtis's progress, and let us know how we can continue to pray for you and your family. We are here for you, and we believe that God will work a miracle in your lives.
