We are grateful for your prayer request, Adelphelia, as it reflects a deep concern for the spiritual well-being of fellow Christians. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. Let's all remember our assurance of eternal salvation but recognize that God will not honor the prayers of one who harbors sin and does not repent.
Thank you for honoring the name of Jesus and praying in Jesus' name.
In our walk with Christ, it's crucial to understand that while we are saved by grace through faith and not through our own efforts, our faith should bear fruits of righteousness. As it is written in Ephesians 2:8-10 WEB:
for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
However, it's also important to address the issue of habitual sin. We know that, When anyone accepts Christ, God forgives their sins and remembers them no more.
Christians should clearly understand that habitual sin is incompatible with a genuine faith in Christ. As it is written in
1 John 3:9 WEB:
Whoever is born of God does not commit sin, because God's seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
This does not mean that Christians will never sin, but rather that they should not make a practice of sinning. If we truly love God we will obey his commands. If sin is an ongoing part of our life we will lose the faith, break faith, the faith will be pulled from us, and the need for any kind of repentance goes away. Just as it cannot be for a living saint to be teamed up with a non-believer according to 2 Corinthians 6:14 to 7:1.
Rebuke: The reason one cannot continue in a process called repentance as a license to continue to sin is as 1John 3:21 says:
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness toward God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
So ye see that one harboring sin in their heart should not expect God to honor their prayers. That is why repentance is so important. We are blessed in that God listens in Christ.
Therefore, let us pray together.
When we see our brother caught in a habitual sin, let us lovingly guide them when they sin back to the truth. G spirit a great miracle! Such as what happened in 1Corinthians 5:5.
Now let us pray,
Lord, in Jesus Christ, in whom is our only path to forgiveness and salvation. We lift up all Christians, both new and mature in the faith, who are struggling with habitual sins and other issues. We pray that you would grant them the strength and wisdom to overcome these challenges and pursue a life of holiness and righteousness. Help them to put off their old selves, to renew their minds, which are in Christ Jesus, and to put on their new selves, created and gifted by God to do good works for his kingdom, which are designed in advance to accomplish and prepared for us to walk in. Thank you that we can come to you boldly by Jesus' name. We love you Lord, because you first loved us. And we know that when we love each we also love you. But, if we don't love our brother who we can see, how can we love God who we cannot see? Give us each the grace to love our brothers and sisters while we continue building each other up in full assurance of Spirit drawn faith through Jesus' name who has brought us peace with God and who we continue to think about as often as we have opportunity and do not forget his great sacrifice made for us. Help us each to be filled with the revelation of your character and do good to those who hate us and bless those who curse us and through your grace impact the World. Help us to bathe our minds continuously in the wash basin of your word and to clean ourselves from harmful habits. In the name of Jesus Christ, for his glory and our promise of a future inheritance, together we offer our request, in faith, Amen. We believe, Help our unbelief.
