We are deeply moved by your heartbreaking situation with your son, Seth Paul O'Connor. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's intervention in his life.
Firstly, we acknowledge the power of Jesus' name, as it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." It is through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we pray for Seth.
We understand the devastation that alcoholism brings, and we rebuke this stronghold in Seth's life. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:12 WEB, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything." We pray that Seth would no longer be held captive by this addiction, but find freedom in Christ.
We also address the anger and hatred that has replaced the compassion and love once present in Seth. Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We pray that Seth would be filled with the Holy Spirit, that he may exhibit the fruits of the Spirit, including love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB).
Given Seth's longing for a family and to be loved, we pray that he would first find completeness in God's love. 1 John 4:16 WEB says, "We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him." We pray that God would surround Seth with a loving, supportive community, including a godly spouse if it is His will, and that he would feel cherished and valued.
Finally, we come against the spirit of bullying that has tormented Seth throughout his life. We pray for healing and restoration, that God would transform his pain into testimony. Psalm 147:3 WEB tells us that God "heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Seth Paul O'Connor. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in his life. Deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your love shine upon him. Heal his heart from past hurts, and help him to forgive those who have wronged him. Surround him with a loving community, and if it is Your will, provide him with a godly spouse. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, Thuthan, for God loves Seth deeply and has a plan for his life. Continue to bathe him in prayer and trust in the Lord.
