We understand that you are seeking financial provision for your daughters' education and your family's needs. It's commendable that you desire to bless others as well. We will pray with you and offer some biblical encouragement and guidance.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God is our provider and that we can trust Him to meet our needs. As it says in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB:
"Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient."
While it's not wrong to ask for specific blessings such as scholarships or a financial windfall, it's crucial to align our priorities with God's will. We should seek His kingdom and righteousness first, trusting that He will provide for our needs.
Regarding scholarships, we encourage you to be proactive in searching and applying for them. Proverbs 16:3 WEB says, "Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established." We should do our part, trusting that God will guide our steps and open the right doors.
Concerning a financial windfall, we should be cautious about our motivations and expectations. It's wonderful that you want to bless others, but we should not solely depend on sudden financial gains. Instead, we should cultivate contentment and steward what we already have, as told in Philippians 4:11-13 WEB:
"Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this family and their financial needs. We ask for Your provision and guidance as they seek scholarships for their daughters' education. Help them to trust in You and to align their priorities with Your will. Give them wisdom and discernment in managing their finances and bless their efforts to bless others.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to caution against the use of the term "windfall." It's not a biblical term. Jesus said to pray this way, " 'Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.' " Matthew 6:9-13 WEB.
