We join with you, Rowena05, in lifting up your husband and your family's financial stewardship. We appreciate your heartfelt prayer and your desire to honor God in this area. We strongly endorse the importance of a united marriage as being the most important earthly relationship. Trust is a key component to this relationship and proving your trustworthiness and his will be a process for both of you.
It is wise to remember the words of the Apostle Paul, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones, Proverbs 3:5-8 WEB. This passage reminds us that our trust should ultimately be in the Lord, and that He will guide our paths as we acknowledge Him. Trust in a marriage is a relationship between three people. The husband, wife, and the Lord. It consists of not only trust in each other, but also combined trust in the direction of God.
As God directs both of you there may be things that he determines need to change in either of your lives in order to improve this aspect of your lives.
Please also be mindful of this advice from the Apostle Peter: Likewise, you husbands, dwell with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered, 1 Peter 3:7 WEB. This passage reminds husbands to be considerate and honor their wives so their prayers will not be hindered. As a wife your husbands prayers can be hindered. Consider if there is any way that you may need to improve your actions in this area to better support your husband. The hindering of prayer by the Apostle Peter is a strong warning to be taken seriously by husbands.
Finally we remember, For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows, 1 Timothy 6:10 WEB. We rebuke any love of money shared by either of you that would lead you away
We pray together:
Heavenly Father,
We lift up Rowena05's husband to You, asking for Your guidance and wisdom in his financial stewardship. Help him to prioritize the needs of his family and to use the resources You have blessed them with wisely. Guard his heart against temptations that lead to wastefulness or unworthy pursuits, and direct his efforts toward providing love, security, and care for his family.
Lord, soften his heart to entrust his finances to Rowena05 as his wife, trusting in their shared commitment to build a strong and united family under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Restore any trust or communication that may be lacking in their marriage. Give him pushing him away from evil by his love of money. Instead, direct his efforts toward providing love, security, and care for his family like in 1Timothy 5:8 If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever WEB. As his wife, Rowena may remind him of this as a loving encouragement. Bless his decisions with the wisdom and clarity that come from You, and remind him always of the value of his role as a husband and father.
Father, we also pray for Rowena05, that You would guide her in being a supportive and trustworthy wife, honoring her husband as the family's head and spiritual leader. Bless her with Your grace, patience, and kindness. Restore any lack of trust of her own in her husband as the Lord ensures that their prayers are not hindered.
Help them to have the humility to accept and implement constructive criticism and direction from each other and the Lord.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your divine guidance and providence.
In Jesus' name, Amen
