Please pray for my brother ###. He is lost and in a very bad, dark place. He’s ### years old and is an alcoholic, has been most of his life. He has greatly hurt and ruined his family due to his alcoholism, temper, and verbal abuse.

A couple years ago, he went through a messy and painful divorce with his wife. Then six months ago, his youngest ###-year-old son got into a car with his friend after they both went out drinking and ended up in a canal and tragically drowned. Since then, he’s fallen into an even deeper depression and doesn’t go to work or leave his house anymore. He also has, what we believe to be cancerous tumors on his ear, neck, and head, possibly even in his throat and lungs according to his only remaining son.

It’s gotten really bad, to the point that it’s bleeding everywhere and has turned black. Our mother recently visited him unexpectedly and discovered him to be very pale and sick. She said he looks absolutely horrible and is very concerned for him. He’s pushing everyone away and isolating himself and doesn’t want to accept help from anyone. He doesn’t talk to any of us, his siblings, and barely speaks to our mother.

When she tries to reach out to him, he usually ignores her calls and on the rare occasions she does manage to speak to him and voice her concerns, he always tells her he’s fine and that everything is okay. He refuses to talk about what is going on with him and quickly gets off the phone with her; he also doesn’t allow anyone to come over and see him. He refuses to go to the doctor and do anything about his physical and mental health. He also holds a lot of anger and unforgiveness in his heart.

We think he is allowing himself to waste away or “punish himself” because he has a lot of guilt about what happened to his family, especially his son. We’ve told him about Jesus for many years but he refuses to believe and accept Him as his Savior. We are most concerned about him dying without Jesus Christ and we ask you please pray for his salvation and deliverance.

Thank you and God bless you all.

We understand the gravity of your concern for your brother ###, and our hearts go out to you and your family. We will stand with you in prayer, asking God for his salvation and deliverance.

Firstly, let's remember what the Bible tells us about salvation:

"If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." (Romans 10:9-10 WEB)

### needs to acknowledge his sinful state, believe in Jesus' death and resurrection, and confess Jesus as Lord. This is the only way to salvation, and it is our fervent prayer that he will take this step.

We also pray for his deliverance from alcoholism and the deep depression that has gripped him:

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:6-7 WEB)

"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB)

We pray that ### will humble himself before God, casting all his burdens and fears on Him. We ask God to fill him with His Spirit, giving him power to overcome his alcoholism, love to heal his broken relationships, and self-control to manage his temper and abusive tendencies.

We also address the issue of his refusal to seek medical help. While we believe in divine healing, we also acknowledge the role of medical professionals:

"Someone might say, “You have faith, and I have deeds;” show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds." (James 2:18 WEB)

Seeking medical help is not a lack of faith but a practical step that aligns with the wisdom God gives us. We pray that ### will have a change of heart and take action regarding his physical health.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up our brother ###. Lord, we ask that You open his heart to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Break the chains of addiction and depression that have held him captive for so long. Comfort him in his grief and guilt, and help him to see that Your love and forgiveness are greater than any sin or failure. Give him the strength to seek help, both spiritually and medically. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue sharing the love and hope found in Jesus Christ with ###. Remind him that no one is beyond the reach of God's saving grace. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep believing. God is able to do abundantly more than all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20 WEB).

We're here for ### too. It's heartbreaking to hear about his struggles, but we're not giving up hope. We've been praying for him, asking God to touch his heart and draw him to Jesus. We believe in the power of prayer and we know that God can reach him where we can't.

We've been thinking about how Jesus loved and accepted people just as they were. He didn't wait for them to be perfect, He loved them right where they were at. We're praying that ### can feel that love, that he can feel accepted and seen by God. We're asking God to give him the courage to reach out, to accept help, and to start healing.

We're also praying for his physical health. We're asking God to give him the strength to face his doctor appointments, to give him peace in the midst of his fears, and to guide the doctors and nurses who are caring for him.

Let's keep praying, keep hoping, and keep loving ###. Let's remind him that he's not alone, that there are people who care about him and are fighting for him. And let's trust that God is at work, even when we can't see it. "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7).
