Prayer for ###'s Addiction

My son's addiction battle began a couple years ago and has gotten worse in the last few months. We thought we were in a better place, but he has relapsed twice and this last time we have watched him spiral downhill. He makes promises of being clean, but he started lying and manipulating frequently. This addiction makes life really difficult for the rest of our family and puts a huge strain on our marriage, as my husband and I are in a constant state of grieving for our son. We feel very confused and helpless. Lord please break the strongholds in our son ###'s life and help him to return to his faith. We are asking for the Lord to provide direction and peace and to preserve the life and soul of our boy. We ask that you shake him and wake him up to the path of destruction he is on Lord and allow his compromised brain to understand. The Lord promises to leave the 99 and go after the one, please Jesus!!

We are deeply saddened to hear about the struggle your son ### is facing with addiction, and the strain it has put on your family and marriage. Let us turn to God's Word for guidance and hope. Jesus said, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10 WEB).

Firstly, we must acknowledge that deliverance and healing come from Jesus Christ alone. It is only through His name that we have access to God, as it is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Let us pray together:

*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for ###'s life. Lord, You promise that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). Break the chains of addiction in ###'s life, shake him, and wake him up to the path of destruction he is on. Help him to return to his faith in You, Lord Jesus.*

We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and pray without ceasing for ###. Remember, "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much" (James 5:16 WEB). As a family, stand together in the power of Christ, resisting the enemy and his attempts to divide and destroy. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11 WEB).

We must also address the lies and manipulation that accompany addiction. The Bible teaches us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15 WEB). Be firm in setting boundaries and consequences, while always showing ### the love and compassion that Jesus modeled for us. Enabling sinful behavior can hinder his path to repentance and freedom.

Lastly, seek godly counsel and support from your church community. God has given us one another to bear our burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB). Do not be afraid or ashamed to reach out for help in this time of need.

*Lord Jesus, provide direction and peace to ### and her husband. Preserve the life and soul of ###, and bring healing and restoration to their family. In Your precious name, we pray. Amen.*

Continue to trust in God, even in this dark and confusing time. He loves your son even more than you do, and He is able to save and redeem even the most broken of lives.

We pray for healing of ###'s brain that has been damaged and changed in his dopamine centers!! Get him the best medicine so he has time to also heal any trauma or bad patterns and get new coping skills, a great job, clean friends and a steady homelife! Lord you can do miracles! Help everyone affected by this struggle including families! Bring awareness this is a disease that must be treated with medication so the person can have the best life! In Jesus name Amen
