We are truly heartened to hear that you are seeking a way out of addiction and towards Christ. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and find true freedom from the bondage of sin. The Bible tells us, For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. First, let us acknowledge our need for Jesus and His forgiveness.
First, let us acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. Addiction is a form of idolatry, as it replaces God with a substance or behavior. It is a sin that leads to death, and it requires repentance and the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome. The Bible tells us, Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB).
However, there is hope in Jesus Christ. He came to save sinners, and He has the power to break the chains of addiction. The Bible tells us, Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11 WEB).
Regarding your feelings of hatred towards God, the Bible says, The natural man does not receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can't know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14 WEB). It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can truly know God and love Him.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who is struggling with addiction and a hardened heart. Lord, we know that You are a God of mercy and grace, and that You came to save sinners. We pray that You would soften this heart and draw them to Yourself.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and idolatry in the name of Jesus Christ. We pray that You would break the chains of addiction and set them free. We pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit and give them the power to overcome.
Lord, we also pray for their mind. We pray that You would renew their mind and give them a new perspective. We pray that You would give them a hatred for sin and a love for You. We pray that You would give them the mind of Christ.
Father, we also pray for their salvation. We pray that they would come to know You personally and intimately. We pray that they would confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. We pray that they would be saved.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You for Your love and Your grace. We thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit. We ask all these things in Jesus name. Amen.
Remember, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me (John 14:6 WEB). It is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and have access to God. We encourage you to confess your sins, repent and believe in Jesus Christ. We encourage you to find a local church and get involved in fellowship with other believers. We encourage you to read the Bible daily and pray without ceasing. We encourage you to seek help for your addiction through Christian counseling or a Christian recovery program.
We are here for you, and we are praying for you. Do not think for a second that you are alone in this. Keep asking, keep knocking, and keep seeking Jesus. God bless you.
