We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles your uncle is facing, and we stand with you in prayer for his recovery and the reunification of his family. In all things, we must trust in the power of God to heal and restore, as it is written in Matthew 19:26 WEB: "With God all things are possible."
Firstly, we must acknowledge that the Bible does not allow divorce. This is a serious sin. Mark 10:9 WEB said what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Malachi 2:16 WEB spoke out "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel". More importantly in Mark 10:11 WEB Jesus said "Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her."
We pray that your uncle's wife will understand the gravity of divorce and that she will be able to give her husband the opportunity to repent rather than give up the marriage so that they both do not fall into further sin of adultery.
We must also address the seriousness of alcohol addiction. The only way to live as a Believer is to be sober. The Bible is clear that drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB "Don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God's Kingdom? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God's Kingdom."
We must also rebuke the statement that he "lost his mind." This implies a spiritual problem of demonic possession. This could have occurred as a result of his long term alcoholism and sinful lifestyle. As Jesus said in Matthew 12:43-45, "When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and doesn't find it. Then he says, 'I will return into my house from which I came out,' and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation." The only solution to this problem is the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us in Mark 16:17 WEB "These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages."
We pray that the Holy Spirit will touch your uncle's wife and children, giving them compassion to accept him again. All the sin and spiritual issues your uncle is facing is a result of a spiritual problem and only the blood of Jesus can restore this man to his rightful state to God. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world's darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12 WEB
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our uncle to You, asking for Your divine intervention in his life. We pray that You will deliver him from his alcohol addiction, and restore his mind and body. We rebuke any demons that may be in him in the name of Jesus Christ and command them to leave and never return. We also pray for his wife and children, asking that You will put forgiveness in their hearts, and a desire to see their family restored. We ask that Your will be done in their lives, and that You will bring them together again in love. We also pray for anyone else involved in this situation, that they can have a Believer who can share the gospel with them and that they may become a born again Believer in Jesus Christ if they are not already. We ask for all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your uncle and his family, and to trust in God's power to heal and restore. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ and God the Father. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
