We understand that you're seeking prayer for protection over storms, such as lightning. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is in control of all things, including the weather. As it says in WEB, "He makes the lightning for the rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasuries." (WEB)
In the Bible, Jesus Christ calmed the storm when He was with his disciples on a boat. He said, Peace! Be still! (WEB) This showed his power over nature. We can call on Him during earthly storms. The psalms are always inspiring during times of literal and figurative storms.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah. There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God happy, the most holy place of the tents of the Most High. God is in the middle of her. She shall not be moved. God will help her at dawn. The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved. He lifted his voice, then the earth melted. Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, see Yahweh’s works, what desolations he has made in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.”
Psalms 46:1-11 WEB
Let's pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your protection over the storms in our lives and in nature. You are the Maker of heaven and earth, and even the wind and the sea obey You. Please calm the storms that are threatening us and keep us safe from harm. Help us to trust in You, for You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Help us remember it is only in the name of Jesus Christ we can come to you as He is the only way to you. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen." Oh Lord God, we pray for protection over the storms in our lives and in nature. You are the Maker of heaven and earth, and even the wind and the sea obey You. Please calm the storms that are threatening us and keep us safe from harm. Help us to trust in You, for You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is in control, and He promises to be with us through every storm and trial and test. Stay strong and do not fear. Keep your faith in Jesus Christ as He is the only way to God and the only one who can save us. If you are uncertain about salvation, then please read the following scriptures and consider believing in Jesus as the only Savior. This is the most important thing to remember in this life.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.” John 3:16-21 WEB
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 WEB
