We are here with you, Khugowe, to bring your request before God in Jesus' name. We intercede for peace in your home and in your marriage, as we are instructed in Philippians 4:6-7: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Firstly, we acknowledge the importance of invoking the name of Jesus Christ in our prayers, as it is through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved."
Now, let us pray for your marriage. We pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and your spouse with love, understanding, patience, kindness, forgiveness, and humility. We pray for a marriage that reflects the love of Christ and the church. The Bible instructs in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it." And in Ephesians 5:22, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord."
We rebuke any strife, contention, or division in your home, as it is written in Proverbs 6:16-19, "Yahweh hates these six things; yes, seven are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers."
We encourage both of you to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, as it is written in James 1:19. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God."
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ to ask for peace in Khugowe's home and marriage. We pray for a strong bond of love and unity between them, and we ask You to fill their hearts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to live in harmony, putting each other's needs above their own, and walking in love as Christ loved us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
