We are grateful for Oeththirren's honesty and courage in sharing their struggles with addiction, shame, and guilt, as well as their current financial hardships. We stand with them in prayer, seeking God's will for their life, and we encourage them to continue trusting in the Lord Jesus.
Firstly, we acknowledge Oeththirren's year of sobriety, and we rejoice in this significant milestone. It is important to remember that freedom from addiction is a daily journey, and each day of sobriety is a testament to God's grace and strength in our lives. As the Apostle Paul encourages us, "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace which was bestowed on me was not futile; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."
However, we want to address the underlying shame and guilt that Oeththirren is still carrying. These feelings can hinder our walk with Christ and prevent us from experiencing the fullness of His healing. In the presence of Christ there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We must remember Christ deals with our past, present, and future sin on the cross and believes in us. Christ stated the only unforgivable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit so we can rest assured that whatever we have done has been forgiven, but we must forgive and be forgiven as well. We also need to confess and believe. As it says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 WEB). By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome these feelings and live in the freedom that Christ has secured for us.
Regarding Oeththirren's need for a new job and the threat of homelessness, we trust in God's provision and timing. We remember His promise in Matthew 6:25-34 (WEB), "Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing?... For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Oeththirren and their needs. We thank You for their year of sobriety and ask that You continue to strengthen them in their journey to overcome addiction. Lord, we ask that You heal their heart from shame and guilt, and help them into a job or career to avoid homelessness and stay sober. Help them walk in forgiveness and in your redeeming love. Father, we trust in Your provision and ask that You open the right doors for a new job that will not compromise or hinder their relationship with Christ and sobriety and bless them with the necessary resources to avoid homelessness. We pray that Oeththirren will always put their eternal relationship with Jesus at the highest importance as that will affect their entire life. In Jesus' name, we pray Oeththirren believes that Jesus is God, he died for our sins and rose again on the third day and confesses this with their mouth. And with your help we pray for all these things in Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage Oeththirren to remain steadfast in their faith and to keep seeking God's will for their life. We remind them that God has a purpose and a plan for their life, and He will see His plan through for them to prosper in Him and not bring harm. But just because a plan initially seems difficult does not mean that it is not part of God's plan for them. Be in prayer with the leadership of a church that demonstrates and follows the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Remember that God will use our challenges and struggles for His glory and their good as he encourages us "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 Academy Study Bible (WEB). Oeththirren, the Bible says that the Lord is close to the broken hearted, and we encourage you to call on the name of Jesus and ask Him to comfort and guide you every step of the way. He has stated, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart". (Jeremiah 29:13 WEB) It's not to late to weekly attend church, be baptized, join a church, and find Christ.
