Thank you for bringing your concerns about your son's struggles with alcohol and decision-making to our attention. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention and guidance.
Firstly, we acknowledge that it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. It is through His name that we can be saved and receive the blessings of God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our ###'s son to You. Lord, we know that You care deeply for him, and You desire for him the best. We ask that You break the chains of alcoholism that have bound him. According to Your word in John 8:36 WEB, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." Lord, set him free from this bondage, and help him to make wise decisions that honor You.
Father, we also pray for his heart. May Your Holy Spirit convict him of his sins and guide him towards righteousness. Help him to see the error of his ways and turn away from them. Surround him with godly influences and support, that he may find the strength to overcome his struggles.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your son. Remember the words of James 5:16 WEB, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
Also, consider the words of Proverbs 23:20-21 WEB, "Do not be among ones who drink too much wine, or among those who gorge themselves on meat; for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags." It is clear that excessive drinking is not God's will for us.
Lastly, we must also consider if he is in a relationship that is influencing him to make bad decisions. If he is in a relationship with someone that is not a Christian believer, then according to 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Do not be unevenly yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" We should encourage him to seek relationships that align with biblical principles and bring glory to God.
In closing, we continue to pray for your son before the throne of God. We pray that he may come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and that the Holy Spirit may guide him in all his ways. We stand in faith, believing that God will hear our prayers and act according to His will.
