We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle your children are facing with drugs. We want to remind you that God is faithful, and He cares for your family deeply. Jesus said in Mark 10:14 WEB
But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me! Don't forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these." We will pray that they would turn from their drug use, which is sin, and turn to Jesus Christ and his Kingdom.
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this parent and their children who are entangled in drug use. We know, Lord, that this is not Your will for their lives. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus' name, and we pray that You would set these children free from the bondage of drugs. 'For freedom did Christ set us free. Stand firm therefore, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.' as Galatians 5:1 reminds us.
We pray that You would give them a spirit of repentance, that they may turn away from their sin and turn to You. We ask that You would surround them with godly influences, removing any friends or influences that encourage their drug use. We also pray for this parent, asking that You would give them the wisdom and strength to guide their children through this difficult time. Help them to be a light that leads their children to You, Lord.
Remind them all that true satisfaction and joy is found only in a right relationship with You. May this family come to know You better through this trial, and may the children come to understand the gravity of their actions and the love of their parent and You, Lord.
Remember, God is the one who promises to change lives and even use this for good. Genesis 50:20 WEB "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive."
We ask this all in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who sets the captives free. Amen."
Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:28 WEB:
"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Trust in the Lord, and do not give up hope. Continue to pray fervently for your children, and cover them with the love of Christ. As Psalm 91:4 WEB says, "He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart." Stand on the promises of God, and trust that He is at work in your family.
