We are truly sorry to hear about the trials you and your wife are facing, but we are encouraged that you both have recommitted your lives to the Lord. Let us stand with you in prayer and share God's word to strengthen and guide you through this difficult time.
Firstly, let us address the sudden financial burden and attacks you are experiencing. The Bible tells us in John 10:10 (WEB), "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." The enemy attacks when he sees us growing closer to God, but remember, Jesus has come to give us abundant life.
In Romans 8:28 (WEB), we read, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working even in these challenging circumstances for your good.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother and sister in Christ who are facing sudden financial attacks. Lord, You are the provider and protector of Your children. We ask that You shield them from the schemes of the enemy and grant them supernatural peace in the midst of these trials. Guide them to the right sources of help and provision, and let their faith be strengthened through this ordeal. Help them to keep their eyes fixed on You, trusting that You work all things for their good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Regarding the drifting away from faith, it is a common experience, but the important thing is that you both have recommitted your lives to the Lord. In Luke 15:10 (WEB), Jesus says, "Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting." There is rejoicing in heaven over your recommitment.
To strengthen your faith, we encourage you to spend time in God's word daily, pray together, and fellowship with other believers. In Hebrews 10:25 (WEB), we are exhorted not to forsake "the assembling of ourselves together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
Lastly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to God's throne of grace. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We encourage you to come boldly before God's throne, confessing Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Stay strong in the Lord, and may God's peace and provision be with you both.
