Let us come together in prayer for your family, especially for your parents. We are reminded of the words in Ephesians 3:14-19 WEB: "For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
First, we acknowledge that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
Heavenly Father, as a group of believers we come together to pray for this family. We thank You for Your loving kindness and mercy. We pray for love, harmony, joy, health, strength, energy, vitality, and healing specifically for both parents. The daughter has expressed concern for her father's recovery from hiatal hernia surgery and her mother not feeling good while serving him. We pray in the name of Jesus that You, Heavenly Father, will provide the healing touch and the strength needed for a full recovery for both of them. We ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit as a source of energy and vitality. We pray for their longevity and for a renewed sense of joy, optimism, positivity, and good mood. Fill their hearts with faith, confidence, and courage.
We also pray for the entire family, that each member would be drawn closer to You, Father, and that Your will would be done in their lives. We pray that they would put on the whole armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB, to stand firm against the schemes of the devil and to remain strong in their faith. We ask that You help them to be diligent in prayer and in the study of Your Word.
We pray for their family that they will increase and abound in love toward each other and to all men, even as we are told in 1 Thessalonians 3:12 WEB: "and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you."
Father, we ask that You guide them, that as children of God, they may walk worthy of You, Lord, to all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, even as we are told in Colossians 1:10 WEB.
As a group we stand united with you in prayer, trusting in God's promises and believing that He is faithful to hear and answer our prayers. We pray all these things in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
In addition to praying, we encourage regular visits and assistance for your parents, showing them love and support. It is important to honor our parents, as commanded in Exodus 20:12 WEB: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." This is the first commandment with a promise.
Also, we need to remember that God is faithful. As it says in 1 Corinthians 1:9 WEB: "God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord."
If there is anything that does not align with biblical principles, God will reveal it as we continue in prayer.
