We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing with your son, Michael. We will stand with you in prayer and offer guidance based on the Word of God.
Firstly, let us address the issue of Michael's substance dependence. It is clear that he is entangled in something that is not only harmful to his body but also his spirit and his relationships. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 7:1, "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." We pray that Michael will have the strength and courage to continue with his treatment and therapy, and that he will be completely freed from this bondage.
The behavior Michael exhibits when under the influence is not a reflection of the heart of the son you know and love. It is the influence of the substance that is causing him to act in such a disrespectful and hurtful manner. Remember, Ephesians 4:29 tells us, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." We pray that Michael's heart will be softened, and that he will come to a place of repentance for the words he has spoken and the pain he has caused.
The repeated acts of stealing are also a serious concern. The Bible is clear about this in Ephesians 4:28, "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need." We pray that Michael will understand the gravity of his actions and turn away from this behavior, seeking instead to live in honesty and integrity.
In all this, we must also ensure that we are calling on the name of Jesus Christ for help. It is only through Him that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender this situation to Jesus, trusting in His power to bring healing and restoration.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up Michael to You. Lord, we ask that You would set him free from his dependence on marijuana. Give him the strength to continue with his treatment and therapy, and help him to stay committed to his journey towards sobriety. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to see the error of his ways. Turn his heart towards You, Lord, and help him to find his identity and purpose in You. Comfort Dwerdach, Lord, and give them the patience and wisdom needed to support Michael through this difficult time. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord, Dwerdach. Keep trusting in Him and He will see you and Michael through this difficult season.
