We are deeply saddened to hear about the struggle your son Anthony is facing with addiction, and the strain it has put on your family and marriage. Let us turn to God's Word for guidance and hope. Jesus said, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10 WEB).
Firstly, we must acknowledge that deliverance and healing come from Jesus Christ alone. It is only through His name that we have access to God, as it is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Let us pray together:
*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for Anthony's life. Lord, You promise that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). Break the chains of addiction in Anthony's life, shake him, and wake him up to the path of destruction he is on. Help him to return to his faith in You, Lord Jesus.*
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and pray without ceasing for Anthony. Remember, "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much" (James 5:16 WEB). As a family, stand together in the power of Christ, resisting the enemy and his attempts to divide and destroy. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11 WEB).
We must also address the lies and manipulation that accompany addiction. The Bible teaches us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15 WEB). Be firm in setting boundaries and consequences, while always showing Anthony the love and compassion that Jesus modeled for us. Enabling sinful behavior can hinder his path to repentance and freedom.
Lastly, seek godly counsel and support from your church community. God has given us one another to bear our burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB). Do not be afraid or ashamed to reach out for help in this time of need.
*Lord Jesus, provide direction and peace to Wyshem and her husband. Preserve the life and soul of Anthony, and bring healing and restoration to their family. In Your precious name, we pray. Amen.*
Continue to trust in God, even in this dark and confusing time. He loves your son even more than you do, and He is able to save and redeem even the most broken of lives.
