We are truly saddened to hear about your son's struggle with marijuana and drugs at such a young age. We must remember that God has a great purpose for his life, and it's never too early or too late to turn to Him for help.
Firstly, we must acknowledge that the use of marijuana and drugs is a sin that can cause addiction and lead to other destructive behaviors. The Bible tells us to be sober-minded and self-controlled (1 Peter 5:8, 1 Peter 1:13). We are called to honor God with our bodies and not engage in substance abuse (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear mother's son to You. Lord, he is still so young, and we ask that You would deliver him from the snare of addiction and the temptation of drugs, in Jesus Name. Father, we know that You have a precious plan and purpose for his life, and we ask that You would reveal that to him in a powerful way.
We pray that You would give him the strength to resist the temptations that come his way, and that You would surround him with Godly influences and friends who will encourage him in his walk with You. Help him to understand the danger of these substances and give him a desire to live a life that is pleasing to You, an abundant life that Jesus Christ died for him to have.
We also ask that You would fill this mother with Your peace and comfort as she trusts in You. Guide her with Your wisdom as she navigates this challenging time, and give her the strength and courage to speak truth and life into her son.
Lord, we know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to You. We know that there is no other name by which we can be saved. We pray that this young man would put his trust in Jesus, that he would call on His name, and that he would be saved from the destructive path he is on. Father, Your Son has interceded for us. We know that our Lord made himself of no reputation, and took on the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. As a man he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Therefore you have highly exalted him, and given him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We know that as a community of believers, we have the power to pray and intercede for this young man's life.
Father, we ask that You would work a miracle in his life, that You would set him free from addiction, and that You would draw him close to You. We pray that he would come to know You as his personal Lord and Savior, and that he would live a life that is transformed by Your love and grace.
We ask all of these things in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for your son and to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Remember that God is faithful, and He hears the cries of His children. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 WEB
