We are truly heartbroken to hear about the struggles you and your son are facing, but we are encouraged that you have reached out for prayer and support. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
Firstly, we want to address the issue of alcoholism. The Bible warns us against drunkenness, as it can lead to a life of destruction and pain. "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). We pray that God will deliver your son from this bondage and give him the strength to overcome this addiction.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this beloved son to You. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of alcoholism that have bound him. Give him the wisdom, maturity, knowledge, and understanding to see the path of destruction he is on and the strength to turn away from it. Surround him with godly influences and role models that will point him to Christ and help him make wise decisions.
We also pray for the relationship between this young man and his father. Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that You soften his father's heart and bring him back into his son's life. If not, we pray that You will provide a godly male role model to guide and support him during these crucial years.
We know, dear Lord, that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but You have come to give us life, and life more abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We claim this promise for your son, Lord. Turn his life around for Your glory and purposes. Show him that You are the only one who can fill the void in his heart and give him true peace and satisfaction.
We also pray for his mother, who carries this burden for her son. Give her the strength, patience, and hope to continue interceding for him. Surround her with a supportive community of believers who will encourage her and lift her up in prayer.
We ask for all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ. We thank you for the hope we have of freedom and a future with Jesus Christ.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your son, as the Bible tells us, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16 WEB). Remember that God is faithful, and He hears the cries of His children. Trust in Him, and He will act on behalf of your son.
Lastly, we want to remind you of the promise in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Hold onto this promise, and trust that God is working in your son's life, even in the midst of this storm.
We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God will deliver your son and bring him into a right relationship with Him. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and don't give up hope. God is on your side, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
