We join with you, dear believer, in lifting up your son and your situation to our Heavenly Father. We are reminded of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32, who also was wayward, but the father never stopped hoping and waiting for his son's return. We believe Your son's heart can be transformed similarly. We must continue to hope for Him.
Firstly, we thank God for His protection over your son's life during the accident. It is a testimony of God's mercy and love. We present your son before the throne of grace, claiming the promise in Jeremiah 29:13, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." and Proverbs 23:26, "'My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes keep in my ways." We pray that your son will have a genuine encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ, that his heart will be touched, and that he will turn away from his addictions and destructive lifestyle. As the scripture reminds us, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
The Bible is clear about alcoholism and drunkenness. It is always wrong and there are many warnings against drunkenness in scripture Proverbs 23:20-21,29-35, 1Corinthians 6:9-11. We are'); using it or asking for it in order to show off to friends is a sin that is an abomination to the Lord it will cause such persons to become poor.
We also lift up your financial burden to the Lord. Be encouraged by the words of Philippians 4:6- do not be anxious about anything but pray and make requests always with thanksgiving and Philippians 4:19 "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." and Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths." God is faithful, and He cares for you and your son deeply. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and strongholds in your son's life and over your finances.
Lastly, remember that God calls you to be an intercessor for your son, standing in the gap for him as Abraham did for Sodom in Genesis 18:22-33. Keep praying and believing, for the effective prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much James 5:16-18. Be assured of our prayers for you and your son that the name of Jesus is great and the Hope of believers Romans 8:24-25. We must ask everything in His name and continuesly till we have an answer John 16:23-24. Thus, we admonish you finally not to give up hope but continue to "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18
