We are with you in prayer, dear friend, lifting up your son's journey to the Lord. Addiction is a powerful stronghold, but we serve a God who can break every chain and set the captives free. As it is written in Isaiah 49:25 (WEB), "But Yahweh says, ‘Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the fierce shall be rescued; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.'"
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this dear son to You. Thank You, Lord, for his life and for the progress he has made in his recovery. We ask, Father, that You would grant him the motivation to continue and excel in his college program. Give him wisdom and clarity to make godly choices and to discern Your will for his life. Lord Jesus, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, that he may know You and desire to follow You all the days of his life. Keep him from temptation and deliver him from evil, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and to trust in the power of God to transform your son's life. Remember the promise in Romans 8:26 (WEB), "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered." The Holy Spirit is interceding for your son, even now.
Lastly, we gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. As the Bible tells us in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Trust in His name, and continue to bring your petitions before Him.
