We are truly sorry to hear about your son's job loss and the challenges he is facing. We are reminded of the scripture in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." This does not mean that everything that happens to us is good, but that God can take even the worst circumstances and use them for our benefit and growth.
Firstly, we want to encourage your son to keep his faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Your son needs a relationship with Jesus Christ to get through this life and go to heaven to be with God. If he does not already have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and he is not saved, then we encourage him to repent of his sins and accept Christ as his savior and his Lord. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
We also want to address the situation of your son having a fiancé, which implies his own word that he is not married. In the Bible, there is no such thing as a fiancé. The Bible says that a man and a woman is not to be together until they are married, otherwise that is fornication. They should not sleep together or live together until they are married. Your son should get married to his fiancé, if he loves her and wants to be with her. Marriage should be honorable among all, and the bed undefiled: but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. We encourage you to rebuke him for this sin and encourage him to get married in holy matrimony.
Let us pray for your son.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our brother who has recently lost his job. We pray that he will humble himself and trust in you, Lord Jesus, and that through this trial, his faith may be strengthened and renewed. We ask that you provide for all his needs, that he may find a new job that aligns with your will for his life. Having children is a blessing from God, and it is his responsibility to work to provide for his family. You have said in the scriptures to have faith in God. You say in 1 Timothy 5:8, "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."
We also pray for his relationship and if it is your will, that they would marry and make a covenant before you, Lord. We pray that he would strive for holiness and purity in this relationship, and in all areas of his life.
In Jesus' name, we pray for these things. Amen.
We encourage your son to keep seeking God's will in his life and to trust in Him. We know that this is a difficult time, but we believe that God will use this circumstance to draw your son closer to Him. We encourage your son to keep looking for jobs with renewed faith and trust in God. We also encourage him to pursue a godly marriage if that is God's intent for him and his fiancé.
