We join with you, Nicole, in lifting up your son Shawn before the throne of grace. Let's bring his situation to the Lord, trusting in His divine intervention and mercy.
In Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), we are reminded to "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that Shawn will put his trust in the Lord today, knowing that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).
As Shawn faces his court date, we pray that the Lord will guide the hearts and minds of those involved, that they may act with wisdom, discernment, and compassion. We ask that if it is God's will, everything will indeed go in Shawn's favor.
Regarding Shawn's battle with severe depression, we take heart from Psalm 34:18 (WEB), which tells us that "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that Shawn will draw near to the Lord, seeking Him as his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). We pray for God's healing touch on Shawn's mind and emotions, that he may overcome this depression and find joy, peace, and hope in the Lord.
Nicole, we also want to encourage you to continue praying fervently for Shawn, as we are instructed in James 5:16 (WEB) that "the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Remember to pray in Jesus' name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard (John 16:23-24).
Lastly, we pray that both you and Shawn will grow in faith and trust in the Lord, knowing that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up Shawn in his time of need. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in his court case today, that everything may go in his favor if it aligns with Your will. We also pray for Shawn's emotional and mental well-being, asking for Your healing touch to help him overcome his severe depression. Lord Jesus, we trust in You and pray all these things in Your holy and precious name. Amen.
