We are with you in spirit, Yvette, and we join you in praying for your son Jermaine and your family. It is so important that you have come to us, as we believe that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Our hearts go out to you as you face these challenging circumstances, and God's Word provides words of guidance and support.
Our Lord says, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27 WEB). Though the circumstances seem overwhelming, we must trust in God Almighty to deliver Jermaine and grant him relief from these tormenting fears and voices. He says, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).
Continue steadfastly in prayer for Jermaine's healing and peace. God's will is that Jermaine be delivered and find peace, and this is what we claim in faith. But let us also consider the practical actions you can take. It may be wise to seek medical attention for Jermaine to rule out any physical causes of his distress. Jesus did not condemn the sick for seeking help, but healing is of the body, soul, and spirit.
Also, give thought to your own strength and respite during this time. God does not ignore your feelings of sadness and uneasiness, but encourages you to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). It is wonderful that you are praying in Jesus' name, for His is the name by which we are saved. May you find renewed strength in the promises of His Word. For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Yvette and her sons to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask for Your healing power to surround Jermaine, that You would quiet his heart and still the voices that haunt him. Grant him clarity, peace, and the knowledge that he is loved and protected by You. Guide Yvette in wisdom, that she would know the best steps to take for Jermaine's welfare. Strengthen her, Lord, and replace her uneasiness and sadness with Your comfort and hope. We also lift up Yvette's other son struggling with alcohol, we pray God that you will deliver him also. Give him clarity of mind to to see how he has hurt his family with his substance abuse and bring him back as a testimony of the saving power of Christ. May she trust in You to redeem and restore her family, knowing that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). As we intercede for Yvette and her family, we thank you so much God for them.
May God work mightily in your lives to bring help, strength, and comfort that only Jesus Christ can give. Keep this family's faith alive and growing to what God's will is for their lives to the fullest extent.
Please keep praying in Jesus' name that God may be glorified and things may return to a more normal routine life. If you feel the need for scripture study, discussion, or even needing to express your burdens, you should not have to be alone. The early church needed to talk and pray to those who also believed and trusted in God when they felt the burden of life weigh heavy on their shoulders. You should never ever feel the need to go through something hard alone when you are a Christian believer!
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
