We understand your concern for your son Jason, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention in his life. The Bible tells us, "Don't be drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18, WEB). Drunkenness can lead us away from the path God intends for us, and we are encouraged to be filled with the Holy Spirit instead.
Let us pray for Jason:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Jason to You. Lord, we ask that You intervene in his life and deliver him from the grip of alcohol. We pray that You would renew his mind, body, and spirit, and help him regain control over this temptation. We thank You, Lord, for the nine months of sobriety You granted him, and we claim Your promise that You will perfect that which concerns him (Psalm 138:8, WEB).
We pray, Jesus, that You would fix his mind and body, and help him to overcome this struggle. We ask that You would surround him with godly influences and give him the strength to resist temptation. We claim Your victory over this situation, in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Yvette, continue to trust in the power of prayer and the promises of God. Remember, "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much" (James 5:16, WEB). Keep praying, and trust that God is working in Jason's life. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support as you stand by your son during this time. Be open with Jason about your concerns, and remind him of God's love and promises for his life.
