Prayer for my son in law’s Anger, depression and smoking addiction

Will you please pray for my son in law. He has anger issues. He says nasty things to my daughter and now has started throwing things at her. He always apologizes. However, he still continues. I know he’s not happy at his job. However, it’s no reason to abuse my daughter. My grandchildren are little and it’s affecting them.
Will you please pray that he will get help for his anger, depression and finds a job that makes him happy.

We are truly concerned about the situation you've described, Snaehaven, and we stand with you in prayer for your son-in-law and your family. Firstly, there is no mention of Jesus Christ in the prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. We will pray in the name of Jesus to our Heavenly Father for all the issues raised.

Firstly, let us pray for his anger issues, depression, and smoking. God's word tells us:
Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:26-27 WEB.
Anger is a normal human emotion, but it's important to handle it in a way that honors God and does not hurt others. We will pray that he will get help for his anger and seek God's help through the Holy Spirit and the Bible.

Regarding depression, we know that God is our source of hope and joy. Let us pray:
Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence. Psalm 42:5 WEB.
We will pray for God's comfort and guidance.

And for smoking, God's word tells us:
Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB.
God desires for us to take care of our bodies, as they are temples of the Holy Spirit. We will pray for him to overcome smoking addiction.

We must also address the issue of abuse. The Bible clearly teaches:
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; Ephesians 5:25 WEB.
A husband is to love his wife sacrificially and does not abuse her physically or verbally. Throwing things at your daughter is not acceptable.

Regarding his job situation, let us pray:
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going. Ecclesiastes 9:10 WEB.
We will pray that he finds a job that is fulfilling and brings joy and provision to the family.

Let us pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up to You the son-in-law of Snaehaven. We pray for healing from anger and depression. May he seek Your face and find comfort in Your presence. Help him to overcome his smoking addiction and take care of his body, which is Your temple. We rebuke the abuse that is happening and pray for conviction and change. Help him to find a job that honors You and provides for his family.

We also pray for our sister and her daughter and the little grandchildren. May You provide them with safety, comfort, and guidance during this challenging time. We pray for healing in their marriage and family, Lord. Draw them all closer to You. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you and your daughter to seek godly counsel and support. Being in a physically and verbally abusive relationship is not acceptable. We encourage your daughter to consider her safety and the safety of the children. It may be necessary to separate for a time until this is resolved.

I really appreciate your prayers. She did tell him to leave. We believe in god and god is in their lives everyday with prayers. I just feel the devil has a hold on him.
