We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles in Basil's marriage and we are here to intercede and offer biblical guidance. Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Basil and his marriage. We ask, Lord, that You soften his heart and the heart of his wife. May they both be willing to accept each other and commit to the union You have established. We pray for a change in Basil's attitude and lifestyle, that it may align with Your will and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We are reminded of Ephesians 5:25, which instructs husbands to love their wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Also, in Malachi 2:16, it is written, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don't deal treacherously."
We encourage Basil to seek God's face, to turn away from any behaviors that do not align with biblical principles, and to love and accept his wife as Christ loves the church. We also encourage his wife to submit to her husband as unto the Lord, as outlined in Ephesians 5:22.
Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God and be saved (Acts 4:12). We urge Basil and his wife to keep their focus on Jesus, to pray together, and to seek godly counsel.
If there are any specific issues or sins that need to be addressed in Basil's lifestyle, we urge him to repent and turn away from them. We rebuke any spirit of pride, selfishness, or unforgiveness that may be hindering their marriage. We pray for unity, understanding, and love to prevail in their home.
